Peopele attacking each other

So just now i started a new adventurer as a human. I appeared in a fort and attacked a lasher  breaking  a bone and he fell unconscious. I then  cut his throat and moved on to attack a dorf chemist I cut him twice with my axe and the second hit mangled his stomach and spilled his guts. i decided to leave him like that and walked away and the chemist ignores me and starts punching the unconscious lasher in the head repeatedly even thought he was also hostile to me and i had just cut them both to ribbions. What the?

Wow now a bunch of elf naturalists and philosophers and others are beating the heck out of each other. Scientists taking each other down wow. this is my first real adventure in the new version.

the new game has all kinds of factions mingling with each other now.

Yeah I'm still fortress guard and member of my civ so i guess i attacked a member of another civ and that sparked a war between them so everyone in my civ was attacked. Some of the elves were hostile to me I guess they were from opposing civs. Man this is so different from before.

Legends mode says that a insurrection started against my own civ in the place i was in so i somehow sparkled it but didn't lose my membership. Wow.

Sometimes random pogroms happen even without your help.

I frequently see Goblin civilians getting slaughtered in elf and dwarf settlements.

Could be that someone somewhere declared a war and boom, hello racial profiling and Nazi Germany.

In this version, you only have to approach the region for an insurrection to begin. There'll be bodies on the floor before you arrive. Oh, and academics do take their fields seriously enough to fight to the death.

My Loon woman recently fought a serious battle in and around the fort. I didnt understand what was happening so I just joined in on the side of the Lord and Lady. I think me and two others got out alive, and my spearwoman companion curses my name for killing her friend.

Seriously, in ancient Greece and Rome, philosophical and mathematical schools would get into street fights over whose Fu was better.
