Masterwork 6.2, Creature Sprites, and ASCII tileset

Hello all. I'm playing Masterwork v6.2, and encountering a strange problem. If I disable creature sprites AND simultaneously attempt to use the vanilla ASCII tileset in the Masterwork GUI, the game will load what I believe is the default Masterwork graphical tileset. However, if I ENABLE creature sprites, the ASCII tileset will be loaded properly. I would prefer to use ASCII without the creature sprites, but for some reason the GUI just doesn't want to allow that.

I have tried fresh installs several times over, and am frankly baffled at this point.

Any thoughts?

The last time I tried ASCII in Masterwork, my Craigtooth Boars and Dew Beetles reverted to Mechanisms & Traction Benches ::)
