How to get a desert civ working?

So I have basically no idea why this entity won't generate a desert/savanna-dwelling civilization. In fact, it won't generate a civilization at all for some reason. Could any of you kind folks look it over and tell me what I'm doing wrong? And yes, the creature is properly set up and the language is properly set up.

File name has to start with the word entity. Yours starts with z.

[TOLERATES_SITE:TREE_CITY] just means that if they conquer any elves then they might keep their forest retreats around, it shouldn't have any effect on them living in deserts aside from rare cases where they're nearly wiped out and forced to live in their conquered forest retreats.

Thank you for that! I had been engaged in widespread deletions when breaking up say humans into water/land, etc etc to get more focused biome groups.

What Zaerosz is lacking is this.

[SETTLEMENT_BIOME]
[SETTLEMENT_BIOME:WHATEVER] is an optional token, as evidenced by the fact that only dwarves have it in vanilla and that it was only introduced in 0.40. It just means that they'll make their smallest settlement type in those kind of biomes, and supposedly not keep them far from their main towns. So for dwarves it means that they'll make hillocks in the areas near mountains, but not anything else. If applied to humans it might mean that they make hamlets that permanently stay as hamlets and have no chance of upgrading to towns. Elves, I think they have two types of forest retreats, but it's like with human towns and hamlets so it'd probably just be the same as humans but with forest retreats. Then goblins already only make their smallest settlement type without any chance of it upgrading so I guess it would only limit their range to somewhat close to their dark fortress.
