In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Why would I ever demand permission to be sigged?  Go right ahead.  There has been a paucity of me around here lately.

In all honesty, as much as I wanted and even [/i]tried[/i] to not care about that paper, it's just not possible for me.  I might slack and I might rush, but part of why I work myself into a fit over every essay is that I am at heart a perfectionist.  Just a really lazy perfectionist, which is where all the neuroses come from.  But after I finished writing the paper, even though it wasn't as straightforward as I wanted, it did honestly read pretty good, and certainly better than I had intended.

The professor also admitted straight up to being pretty arbitrary, and grading most of the papers on the first couple pages.  Most other people got ranked down on her list due to gross spelling, grammar, and writing errors.  Which really baffles me that in a Senior-level college course, there can be so many people who just don't grasp how to write properly.  I've seen this happen in plenty of other courses, with people who have no excuse for such poor writing.

You don't need a license to sig.

Also, all eternity.

What can I say?  I wouldn't fix it now anyway.  I'm a relaxed guy, and I want everyone else to be relaxed.  And it certainly isn't for...

...lack of trying.

Yeah.

Officemate never stops slurping his coffee, no matter what you say or do.  Yes, he's at the other desk behind me right now.  Yes, he's slurping his coffee.  No, I can't think productively, and yes, I came onto the forums just to find a place to vent about coffee slurpers.

Am I writing that big ass essay I thanked the many mistresses of fortune for giving me more time to finish?  No.  I am reading Homestuck and playing Iron Grip by myself.  I'm not even a third of the way done with the stupid thing.  But fuck that, I'm going to harsh my good mood by razzing on myself again.  Not for the moment.

It would have been more, but you guys totally ruined the Terminator thing.  I can't wait to see what next year holds.

Officemate now drumming on desk and singing under his breath.  Do not think officemate grasps the concept of a quiet work environment.

Have you ever got one of those days that you're in a good mood, expect the rest of the day to go well enough, and even make little plans to keep the day going well... Only to have it go completely opposite of what you expect, and it all gets turned upside-down and just keeps tumbling downhill from there?

That was essentially today.

Starts off with the day being rather pretty, welcoming, and pleasant, I discover that Japa's new IsoWorld release came about, and I had fun scouting some nice locations to try out (intended to today as well even), I screwed around with PowderToy for a few moments, and then completely out of the blue, I'm the designated babysitter for what was promised to be less than an hour, but became 3-4, and had to watch my nephew (who was showing signs of sickness, and constantly bugging me to play games with him) and my niece (who is in her spoiled stage, and I reverse-psyched her to admit that she's a rule-breaker and at that stage; full-blown confession and everything with minimal effort (a personal win, because her mom can now discipline her with the evidence I got regarding her consistent disobedience.)), I've also been run to the ground in my services with design stuff that I couldn't do with all the craziness I was already dealing with (and it coming out that I was the screw-up in the situation), and winding down from it all I realize I'm now coughing, despite my resilience to the weather as of late, I'm starving which doesn't help my condition, and I'm stressed. Not to forget, I've also lost interest in doing the stuff I initially wanted to do today (Ein's Japanese lessons, and beginning an embark at a nice location at least). And now I have a bunch of phlegm coming from nowhere, so I MIGHT be sick for the next few days. Here's to hoping I recover before it does me in.

...Yeah. Averaging out today, not my best for the week. Oh yeah, under my stress I almost forgot that there are some shows I wanted to catch today, and would've missed them in full absent-mindedness via stress. I need a dose of Happy (Trope link helped a bit :) ).

EDIT:
Great, even my grammar/spelling was borked in some points of this post, and I didn't notice while typing. I corrected it. In a sense, I guess this makes up for a lack of working this week. :\

I can't seem to get files to transfer from my smartphone to my computer. Android and Windows won't play nice with each other.

Can't leave my house to go to the shops, there are too many people between my room and the front door.
Come to think of it, I can't make it to the kitchen easily, either. I guess I might take a nap whilst DF's worldgen continues.
