Executive Assault - CEOs' battle for world dominance FPS-RTS
« on: October 09, 2015, 05:39:03 am »

A quick search yielded no results of a thread about this game, for shame.

It's an indie RTS-FPS made in what seems like Unity and its big selling point is that apart from being just an RTS in the vein of C&C, it gives you a Cortex Command-like ability to control any one of your units in first person.

All buildings are fully modeled on the inside so you can freely walk and fight inside them, which you have to do in fact if you want to win which you do by killing the enemy commander (or CEO in this case) high up in their office.

Throw in a decent research tree, a variety of units and buildings and multiplayer as well and you've got a solid and unique game.

Link.
I have yet to grab  it but I'm very fond of what I've seen and heard so far.

A shame my laptop is too old and primitive to handle this game.

Otherwise, it seems like a steal at $13.

Picked it up...its pretty awesome. It plays like Warzone 2100 and you can customize your units.

Would like to see more and bigger maps though

Looks really neat, especially considering the Cortex Command modding scene is apparently thoroughly kill at this point.

We are doomed. It's just that whatever is going to kill us all just happens to be, from a scientific standpoint, pretty frickin' awesome.

only problem I have is that it seems to be aimed at very quick matches...though all that stuff is getting tweaked being EA and all...still a good time

Played this. It's definitely focused on quick matches..would be awesome if it had some sort of campaign/map conquest mode.
But I found the game really lacking when it comes to helping you have some awareness of what's going on. Doesn't show unit groups on-screen, doesn't tell you if there's some battle going on, and only warns about something when there's a robot (or robots) already invading your office and murdering your CEO.

I really like how you can go inside structures and all that. But it seems to me most games can be won by throwing zergs until someone loses?

Hopefully it gets updated..it seems the last on was in August. For RTS fans, at 13USD, is probably worth a shot.

It honestly feels like a lot of their problems came from the fact that their entire team was composed of cats, and the people who were supposed to be herding them were also cats.
