Disclaimer: This is a My Little Pony based game, rudimentary knowledge of the show is not necessary but welcome. If you cannot
handle ponies, leave immediately.
The story of ArmorgirdleThe setting is an alternate universe (to explain the complete change in geography of the place) to the main time line of the show. it is (very) shortly after Luna's banishment, and everything in somewhat of a disarray. To raise morale a group of seven brave ponies was sent to establish a new town, to show the world that despite loss of one of the Diarchs Equestria is still a force to be reckoned with... or that is the official version at least.
'Are you still upset?' Asked Trade.
'What do you think?' Tulip barked back.
'I think you are being too hard on yourself, I mean She *is* a Princess...' Trade started pondering.
'One more word and I will tie you to a tree...' Tulip responded.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brassed steel clanged as seven ponies run through the castle halls.
'Are you sure you want to do this?' Trade asked, slightly worried. She was the only one in the group who did not wear any armor.
'Of course! This madness has to end! You said everything is in place, right?' Tulip answered.
'Yeah, I told everypony who I thought would listen, they will all be in the throne room!' Remarked Trade, cheerily.
'Well than, no time to lose...' Mumbled Tulip, ensuring her armor was tightly strapped. She never liked the look of the armor worn by the Day Guard, but it will be rather deliciously ironic to wear it today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'I mean, how could I have know that they would not understand what I meant by "there is gonna be a coup today, meet us in the throne room at sunrise"?' Trade said for the nth time, desperately to console her former friend.
'I swear Trade! My sword! So far up Your Flank! They will never pull it out!' Yelled Tulip, much to the dismay of the other ponies traveling with them. This was a common occurrence on the journey, and it became annoying rather quickly.
'And how would you do that, silly. You do not even have one anymore.' Retorted Trade with warm smile on her face.
'Aaargh!' Exhausted Tulip.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Captain Root Boytulip, what a pleasant surprise!' Said white alicorn sitting on, now, only throne, her aurora borealis like mane in slight disarray. 'May I ask why did you discard your Night Guard uniform?'
'Cut the talk Celestia, you know why I am here!' Tulip bellowed. 'We have seen what happened with your sister! You, just like her, are a threat!'
'Those are very hurtful words, Tulip. Especially coming from you.' Responded Celestia, discarding the Royal voice in favour of her normal speaking one, small tears forming in her eyes. It was all too soon after that event. It may be that it will never be too soon.
'Brothers and Sisters of Canterlot! This pony is dangerous, and cannot be trusted! We are here to remove her from power that so we may finally live without tyrants shadow on us!' Tulip addressed gathered soldiers and nobles. 'Now, make haste and arrest that traitor!' Nobody in the hall moved.
'You did hear Captains command, my little ponies.' Said Celestia slowly. Couple dozen swords left their scabbards. eight or nine spears lowered their points. Bakers dozen spell casters' horns lit up. All of them pointed at Tulip, who looked a bit confused by the turn of events. She did however came back to her senses quickly.
'The seven of us is more than enough to finish this job.' She said, looking at the group behind her. Apart from Trade smiling apologetically every other pony was shuffling uncertainly, a stark contrast to confidence they exhumed just a few minutes ago.
'Ummm... Ya see Capt'n... Is it too late to opt out of yer little club?' Asked Fruit Family.
'Nevermind, I will do it myself if I have to! Die, you old goat!' Tulip yelled, drawing her sword. As she jumped towards the Princess with her wings open she nimbly dodged a spell cast her way.
Next twelve hit her right in the chest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Oh come on, Tulip! At least we were spared our dignity!' Trade plead with her not-so-much-of-a-friend-anymore. 'And we got a farewell worthy of greatest heroes! Everypony back home thinks we are the bravest ponies around!'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next day Tulip stood on a podium i front of the crowd, slightly in front of the rest of the group. In front of her was Celestia, adressing said crowd, with her back turned. It would be so easy... if not for the binding spell that was cast at her.
'.... and even in times as dark as these there are some brave enough to challenge the darkness....' Celestia's speech was long, convoluted, full of sweet nothings and pointless as always. Why will she just not end it? though Tulip. She had them captured easily enough. If she were to execute them she would not have them standing around, smiling at everything.
'..... and these few brave souls....' Tulip was starting to get uncomfortable, the spell did not allow her muscles to relax, so she stood there, stiff as a board, already feeling the cramps she would get the next day. Just like way back, at the training, when her drill captain made her stand at attention for twelve hours for stealing his favorite cup.
'... and thus I introduce to you the seven that will go beyond the Everfree forest. Beyond known borders of out Kingdom...' Banishment? Huh, she is certainly fond of that type of punishment isn't she? Tulip pondered. '... where they will establish a new town, possibly creating a trade route between us and the Zebras, for the glory of all Equestria!' Wait? What? Tulip was surprised. As the crowd cheered Celestia approached Tulip, giving her a short hug. 'I take no pleasure in this. May you finally find your peace wherever you end up, Tulip.' She whispered into Tulips ear.
'Before our dear expedition leaves, is there a particular name that you would wish to bestow upon that region?' Celestia asked Tulip loud enough for the crowd to hear. As Tulip's mouth was released from the spell still binding the rest of her body her eyes fell on teh purple jewel in her captor's crown.
'The Amethyst of Goats. We will establish a town of Armorgirdle in the Amethyst of Goats...' She answered to the confusion the the gathered onlookers. She was the only one seeing a sly little smile appear on Celestia's lips for just an instant.
~~~~~~~~
'No point wasting time, this place will be good. We have a stream, it is in a valley, we are defend-able.' Tulip desperately tried to ignore fleeting shadows that seemed to occupy her peripheral vision. She was tired of walking. 'You two, make some space, start chopping down trees. Maybe start making a hut or something. You there, start digging some trenches, I want this place fortified and defensible before Summer. You, the newby, you are with me, we will look for something edible, maybe find a good place for a farm.'
'Geesh Tulip, you know everypony here, you can use our names...' Trade said. 'And what am I supposed to do?' She added eagerly.
'Check if the water is drinkable... in fact, lay in it snout first, if you don't die after thirty minutes we will presume it is safe.' Barked Tulip.
*The rules bind both me and those participating in the RP part.
*Cheating (with DFHack or otherwise) is permitted ONLY if there is no other to progress, and only if the community allows for it. Note that a death of a character (unless REALLY anticlimactic) will usually not be considered grounds to cheat. Yes, even if that mean MY character dies. I have a story to tell with her, but if she dies, she dies. Life sucks, wear a helmet.
*Requests for dorfing (ponying? nah, that sounds rather silly) will be considered and implemented after the update FOLLOWING the request, unless otherwise stated by me. It is mostly due to the fact I play a chapter ahead in my community fortresses, so I can mold the story a bit better.
*If you do like the characters profession thought luck, you are stuck with it, don't worry, speak up and unless this REALLY goes against the forts interest (i.e. our last farmer wants to become a wax crafter) I will try to accommodate.
*Most likely the most important rule: I have learned this by observing Shadytrails, so there may be some wisdom in it. If you want to write 5 A4 pages of RP at the time go for it. Just do not expect me, or anyone else to wait for you.
*Please, to keep things tidy, keep the in-character bits in spoiler tags, this way the page will look cleaner and more organised, one of the staples of getting more involved.
*If you want to Rp a conversation between two characters with the person owning the other character, feel free to do so using PMs, compile it into one RP and either post it yourself or send it to me to post (note: if you send it to me I *may* do some touch-ups)
