Track Ramps ?

Does anyone know how to configure the tracks to go up and down z levels right ? I'm messing it up somehow.

only thing I can think of without more info is that you can't immediately make a turn after a ramp but need a flat track first

it would really help if you could tell us what part is working, and what you have trouble with and what you are actually trying to do

maybe some info can be found on the wiki?

one thing I found as a possible problem there:

When you carve tracks on ramps, you need to include the wall behind the ramp in your designation so that the track goes all the way up the ramp (as opposed to stopping in the middle of it).

I had a similar problem, the above solution (regarding the wall behind the ramp) solved it

It probably differs with the tileset used, but Phoebus provides good feedback of what you're carving. After designation you can see if it's stopping or continuing through, turning, etc.
- As indicated by the posts above, when designating the carving of a ramp you need to paint the track into the wall behind the tile.
- If you want a turn on a horizontal track you paint to and including the tile to turn on and then start from the turning tile in the new direction (the strokes can also be done in the other direction; start and stop order doesn't matter).
- A turning ramp requires you to paint the horizontal part up to and including the ramp tile and then you start from the ramp tile and paint into the wall tile in the direction you want to exit on the tile above.
- Impulse ramps require you to paint the track up to and including the ramp, then erase the part on the ramp, then paint a track from the ramp into the wall to the side and then paint the track from the ramp onwards (again, the order of the strokes is not significant, nor is the direction).
- Note that impulse ramps can fail to work for mysterious reasons. My theory is that the are somehow affected by what is on the level above.
