Does anyone know how to burn a video file to a dvd that can be played in a DVD player?

Windows Media Player can't do it (it only does data disks), and every other program I've encountered so far is either non-functional crap and/or overpriced crap.

Any ideas?

Burn can do it if you have access to a mac.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Been a long time since I've done this, but just doing a simple google search for open source options, both InfraRecorder and DVD flick claim to be able to do it.

DVD Flick works.

But does anybody know how to add new menu templates to it?

I use DVDStyler. It's free and easy to use.

Looks promising. I'll have to try is to see if it's more or less reliable than DVD Flick

BTW, Is there any way to import new backgrounds for menus?

EDIT:
Also, is it possible to make it auto-loop?

UPDATE:
On testing it seems that DVDStyler is much more stable than DVD Flick, and it IS possible to make the DVD loop (if you set the last track's advanced settings to jump to track 1 upon completion)

... just so long as they give consent, and maybe use cases instead of very breakable dvds. Shards would be very painful let loose in nooks.

Hint: You may have missed a comma :V
