Once there was the Greater Kingdom of Bostoma led by the ancient Cesar fammily who's rule was known as absolute for almost a millenia. The Kingdom they ruled spanned an entire continent and encompassed many people and even religious sects. While each ruler was different in their policies they all universally tolerated and integrated the vast amounts of people with different measures of success. The amount of work and sacrifice by these rulers is told again and again through stories and tales an even in the Universities throughout the country.

This changed 20 years ago when your father King Bohemond "The Proud" was killed and your Mother Queen Elizabeth found her skills as Regent lacking when war was declared by the Kingdom of Derastia. The invasion was a surprise attack you were told and destroyed coastal fortifications and messengers were killed by assasins of Derastian employ. When your mother heard about this she quickly sent for mustering of the armies but her skills as a General were none-existent and the Derastians were too quick to be stopped by the amount of time it took for even a meagre force to assemble properly.

The devastation caused by the Derastian Kingdom was great as many city centres saw their mayors hanged, coffers looted, fields stripped bare, and temples of all kinds burned. The countries infrastructure did not recover but the worst was yet to come. In order to save what was left of the Kingdom and preserve the country she sent you and your siblings to the Island Republic of Montague where her cousin Governor Mecas has watched over you all. Your mother even went so far as to marry Prince Alexius and turn over what was left of the country in order to stop the pillaging from spreading any further. This left a very awkward Goverment being formed as native Bostaman's and other groups found the invaders repulsive but unable to object to the status quo. Internationally the King of Derastia Godfrey II has declared a "Dual Monarchy" between the two states albeit with Derastia being smaller yet more prosporous now than Bostoma.

As the rightful hier to the throne and it's future conqueror how did you grow up? An how did your siblings grow up?

A) I grew loving books and eventaully I found a tutor to teach me about the world.
B) I grew up learning basic magic on my own for meditation and for doing simple things. Eventually the court mage found me interesting for my young talent and he tutored me ever since.
C) I went through the High Military Academy of Montague where I met future Lt. General Ivan Osva. Ivan and I were cadets but he stayed around the palace after his appoint through merit. People spoke that his skill leading was great and wondered when his first battle would be. Quitely though we acknowledged that it would be at my direction he would fight when the time came.
D) The Governor took an Intense Interest in me. He trained me in everything from court manners to diplomacy, scrying magic (defensive), and even had a swordsmen tutor me in how to fight.

My siblings grew up..

A) Carefree. While they want to return our country they don't have the courage needed to fight. They did spend their time playing with nobles and later talking to dignitaries.
B) They became pretty smart. They formed book clubs, poetry circles, and became very well rounded cultured individuals. My sister even ended up being able to help writing small plays for the dignataries under the Court Jester.
C) They were rough and all became addicted to taking back the throne by force. Some took a more strategic approach in learning the art of war while others focused more on being powerful warriors with bows and swords.
D) They were warded of to different minor Lords in the island and all came back differently each year we reunited. We all still love each other deeply and write often but our educational backgrounds are all different. It can be hard communicating what were doing or but we all find a way.

Time went on and you were in your teenage years. You joined the magical society of the "Library of Athena" at the behest of your Master, Court Mage Godfrey. Your power in general allowed you everything from basic enchantment to prevent rust, gusts of wind to unbalance people (very weakly your master pointed out), and even some mind reading using runes your Master provided.

Your Siblings had grown also into talented tacticians and quick footed warriors but their tempers were very short at times. You note a particular incident where Lawrence demanded fish after his scenario matches with Elizabeth but was given beef. The butler who served him that was found hanging by his thumbs and beaten horribly with Lawrence proudly boasting it was him who "gave the order" and said it was the butlers fault for attempting to sabotage his brainpower with food like beef. Elizabeth, Loraine, and Aaron have also become more aaggresive and short tempered an have joked of becoming rulers also. Something that your Uncle has discreetly told you worries him for these actions could destroy the name of the Cesar familly forever.

Elsewhere in the world, Bostoma was making news as a new army was raised to help protect the Kingdom. Unlike the Kings personal retinue of (which was always on guard or acting as a standing army) the new unit would be greater than the retinue and would also stand as the Kingdoms new central army. Fortresses were being erected to act has HeadQuarters to the new Army led by a unknown figure known figure known as Major General Rembrant. More importantly is news of a scandal that suggests that your moothers new children (your half brothers to be more precise) were born out of King Alexius desire to impose sexual and psychological damage to the Queen and her faction which attempts to stop Alexius's efforts to break Bostoma. Your siblings, particularly Lawrence, have vowed vengeance if the news is true.

In unrelated news the Empire of Kartina's 30 year civil war is over. You imagine that the Empire is at it's weakest point yet with a new ruling class and a completely horrified populace who's homes, buisnesses, temples, and even graveyards float in the wind. Apparently A necromancer named Rasputin has become the new Commander and Chief after using his power to raise the undead against the Imperial Army and Rebels for his Master to take power.

As A teenager you continued to be fascinated with magic and practiced regularly with Godfrey. For a formal education you asked to learn about:
A) Magic from the Aristotle Academy of Mystics.
B) The Montaguen Trade League for Finance and Trade.
C) Joined the National Electors and made connections with everyone within the Government of Montague as well as Foreigners.
D) Jarulein Military University where you learned first hand what it meant to be in the military and command an army.

Your Siblings continued a military Education also with the exception of Elizabeth who joined the Trade fleets for a more naval education and for her ambition to join the ranks of the Worldly Grand Merchants. Aside from that you decided to:

A) Get along with your Siblings.
B) Express your will to rule and keep them in line.
C) Decided to make friends in court.

((I would like to first point out that all 4 siblings are Generals. Some lead from the front and act as warriors who destroy lined while the others lead behind and create formations to obliterate the enemy. Currently they are more or less Equals and all have a talent for war while you have a talent for Magic. In this world Magic is a wild card that can make or break an army.

You continued to dive into the world of magic to learn the secrets of mystics. Under Master Godfrey who intends to leave the court to help you in your quest for the throne, he makes sure that his full power, attention, and connections help you along the way. You are considered at age 19 a young but Masterful mage. You created and ran experiemnts daily in order to learn as much before you returned home to confront the aging King Alexius. Of note you remember having small fantasies about setting him on fire as you started a revolution within the Kingdom to overtrow him or forcing him to resign the throne through courtly ways along with your siblings.

Speaking of your Siblings, in these final years you decide to spend time with them and just generally get along. At first, this is more of awkward hellos and reactions of surprise from your siblings seeing you as a outsider. But they warm up after your continued attempts an eventually they even let you in on their strategies of war.

Lawrence for one has started to calm down from his previously impulse reactions of anger and dishing out hurt. Apparently Aaron set him straight one night where Aaron stood in the way of a poor maid who went into his room to clean up his books. After a brief fight Lawrence confided of his paranoia an anger towards the situation. He read books and listened to stories of the great Cesar famillies but in the end here he was living the life of an Exile Prince. He went on to admit jealousy as the second oldest sibling but saying he was jealous of you for being the future Queen. While in conversation he could have worded it better he does seem to be more of a softie than you knew him to be all these years. His current dreams relate to being the Commander an Chief of the Kingdoms armies an re-forming the army to be the strongest force the world has ever seen. You note that his voice rises whenever talking about this ambition of his.

Aaron himself feels a Knight and has visions of ressurecting the Bostomi Knights. He claims that long ago an ancient knightly order was destroyed completely fighting many wars in the continent. "Their numers dwindled and dwindled into nothing but their faith in our Dynasty drove them to continue fighting.". Aaron has gone a long way in replicating their old training regimes and adding strategy an political discusions with some independant Orders he has come in contact with in Bostoma. He also details how the people have an intense an dividing opinion on King Alexius. Apparently the people, of the swamplands consider him a true warrior king with his Iron rule an joined his armies. He in term has rewarded them with new non-swamp lands as positions in his new army. Others feel him a tyrant who disrupts all activities that do not specifically pay him or treat him like a Grandieous King.

It seems our mothers attempts to stop his influence were all for naught..

Loraine has always been a bully of a girl. She seems to always teased Aaron and Elizabeth by calling Aaron "Little Wonder Knight" or "Her Elegant Generalship Elizabeth". She curtsied at them and even pretended to fall in love with our brothers in order to make them blush. When not flaunting her teasings though she is a very good army officer. Apparently she's credited at the Academy for having the first unbreakable record in combat scenarios going so far as outdoing some of the instructors. She does not have the furosity that other furious generals have rather she has a shadowlike aura that makes her unnoticable (without magic nonetheless) an a very efficient method of incapacitating soldiers with stabs to vital area. Her specialty is apparently in ambushing targets.

Elizabeth went to join the trade leagues but writes letters at least once every two-weeks. Her travels indicate that she's visiting many countries of peace and prosperity as well as war and poverty. She notes that the rich try to haggle down prices and the poor have no way to pay for anything without stealing items or selling slaves. She is currently on her way to becomming an apprentice to a Grand Merchant by the name of Jariah of Honey. He apparently spends a fortune adding honey to every meal he can to the point of buying a fleets worth of money. Elizabeth views him as a most interesting man of adventure.

You notice that all of your siblings however have been working hard to make contact with mother. All letters are unanswered or given a very brief messege from her. Uncle's attempts to get an audience for even one of you has also met with no success. Lawrence in particualar is worried and Aaron has begun a prayer session every morning with Lawrence. They may not say it but they are not optimistic with what's happened to her..

In your final years you receive a invitation to join the Royal  court of King Alexius. You note that the invitation has no official position but taking it would allow you to enter the royal palace and see your mother. As well as see firsthand what exactly is going on in your homeland. Your siblings recieve similar invitations and expressions are mixed. Elizabeth and Aaron are both against joining the court. Lawrence and Loraine are either desprate to see mother or wanting to challenge Alexius in his own grounds.  Eventually though you will have to pick for yourself and know that this will be your first of many decisions of your campaign to take back the throne.

A) Join the Court of King Alexius
B) Join a Lower Court in Bostoma
C) Stay in Montague.

Also what is your main school of magic?

A) Elementals (Fire, Water, Air, and Earth). A basic but tried and true school for War and Peace.
B) Death Magic (Death,  Biology, and Blood). A Dark Magic school with a very bad reputation attributed to userbers and Genocidal Murders.
C) Ethereal Magic (Dealing with Spirits and Different worlds). A newish school devoted to using a previously unknown universe's power
D) Terror magic (Heart stoping nightmares, Torture, and Mental manipulation). Used by Interrogators and Inquisition members for information. Looked down upon by the genral publics but not as much as death magic for it's use in criminal activities.

It has been years and with your mother at the elderly age of 43 you and Aaron decide it is finally time to see her. Whether it means joining the court of the invader or not. You pack up your things with help of the Governors servants. The Governor himself, Mecas, Decides to give you a staff and journal as well as some traveling money. He wishes you and Aaron both luck as you depart. You see a tear go to his eyes which he wipes away. Both you and Aaron can't help but laugh at your Uncle but cry yourself.

With you is Ex-Court Mage Godfrey who has sworn his services to you until his life can no exist without going to the heavens. You've always known Godfrey as a cynical and bitter old man because of his distaste for crude magicians. As Court Mage anyone who practices informal magic was to be locked up or executed depending on severity, but eventually the law was repealed due to the many peasants who used magic as a way to clean things faster or keep their pantry without Rodents. As for his actual school, Godfrey claims to be a Jack of All trades with a small speciality as a Elementalist. He claims that while not particualrly powerful his raw power and determination has helped him catch murders, heretics, and even powermad mages.

As known before, Aaron is with you with his companion Brother Hienz. Hienz is apparently an ex-magical warden who was under the employ of Godfrey for Montague's magical police force. He's joined Aaron in his quest to revive the Bostoman Knights who protected the Kingdom years ago and challenge the new central army of King Alexius. He's stated that he'll need many years for things to be even but he's confident in his skills to lead he says and promises to help you whenever he can.

Your other Siblings are more or less okay with you going but Lawrence who see's you as a traitor to the familly for bowing to the King Alexius and joining his court. Even your past friendships, Kin love, and Uncle Mecas's request for acknowledgement has led Lawrence to define you and Aaron has traitors. He also recalls Elizabeth and Loraine as traitors also for not sticking around in the Republic where you were all exiled to. You wonder if he'll ever see to your way of thinking despite his hard head sometimes.

The one month ride is smooth despite the rocking of the boat that makes you feel sicker than ever before. Even Godfreys herbs and motion resistant spells can't negate your first sea voyage all though they do help a bit. Aaron and Hienz have confronted themselves to the Ships quarters apparently drawing up plans for their Knightly order while you wait for your voyage to end.

Taking the Voyage in stride you decide it's time to put your magical power flexing to the test. You and Godfrey both brush up on your current spells as well as learn a new spell he calls "Martyr Defense". While not the real name of the spell it's basically a spell that connects your heart to another being say an enemy mage. If done succesfully, either one of you could die if one of the hearts stop. It's a very dangerous spell that is used by mages in a last resort because once done it's impossible to break unless the connection can be transferred out of the body which is what is normally done.

No Sane enemy would attack you once the spell is completed for of course killing you would end their life but the same is true for you. He explains to use this as a last resort over and over again while bringing up historical examples of mages and friends of Godfrey dying to this same spell.  When you ask how to remove the connection of the spell so as to force the enemies heart to connect with, say an ant you can crush, he tells you that this knowledge is beyond his wisdom for death magic not being his primary field of focus. You'll need to seek out tomes or others to help you learn this spells exemption if you are ever to use it with more reliability.

Aaron towards the end of the journey explains that he'll only be visiting court as needed as he and is companinon will have much adventuring to do in order to find those willing to join his Knightly order. He explains that building up supplies, money, and owning his own fortress or lands will take much time an implies he woudn't be much good in socializing with the Nobility which he sees as too soft or crafty for his taste. You yourself explain you have no concrete plans for taking the throne back or creating your own support group like Aaron which he snaps telling you that your time for deciding this is almost over. In less than 20 hours you'll be back in to the Kingdom of your heritage, Bostoma and will face a Tyrant King who has the court firmly under an iron gauntlet.

When you go back to your bed you notice a letter in your bed. It's assigned to you but comes from someone who didn't want to be identified, going so far as putting down a picture of a Dove on a Tree as their name. It reads:

"Hail Elisa Cesar,

Who I am is currently something I cannot divulge yet. What I can divulge is that I am very happy to see you return to the country along with your Brother Aaron. My men have been keeping tabs on her Highness children at her behest due to King Alexius's less flattering methods of control. I am sorry to inform you that for the last year I have not been able to contact her nor has anyone in the court seen her.

I imagine she is under house arrest somewhere because of her hand in foiling King Alexius's plans to centralize more power onto himself. You see your mother has led a secret society of varous characters, in an effort to break Alexius's power somehow and allow her to take back the throne. At least in decision making it was. In the end, are efforts were only slightly succesful as King Alexius has created a new method of control known as the "Bourbon's". I am sure you have heard of them as the new central army that stands vigilant in peace and war. The Army is currently in it's infancy and no land holder wants to hand over security to them after seeing what has possibly happened to your mother. Amazing what spreading the word does hmm?

To say that I need your help is an understatement as I am having problems ensuring the loyalty of the group without your mother as its banner of battle. I need you to be that new Banner to rally upon. Else I fear that Alexius in time will break us completely and annihilate the last resistance to his power. If any good news can be shared it is that the King of Derastia has fallen ill with Alexius's brother Jayln taking power. The two are not in speaking terms which is good for us, if we can break Alexius power now in this oppertune time perhaps Jayln will let it go and Bostoma will belong to you as intended.

Before I end this messege though I would like to boldy ask that you draw power from your Siblings. Each seems to have gone their different ways with Lawrence being hugely mad at the idea of you coming here. Their help in the future may be the key needed to put the nail in Alexius's coffin before he nails down the White Dove Society.

You read the letter several times over to see what can be discerned from this. It may be a key to taking back your country or it could be a trap by the King himself. Either way tommorow begins your campaign an whether God will give you and your people Justice.

After arriving on shore you have one more change to speak with Aaron if you wish or Godfrey before heading out to the Royal Court togeter. Thankfully, no one seems to recognize you which may be good. An what of that messege?

Speak with Aaron, inform him that we will need his help when the time is right and that he should gather his own strength first. The message isn't much concern as we aren't sure of their trustworthiness or whether they are treating you as some tool.
