I once had a similar problem, but it was all my cats walking around with no feets :/ Forgotten beast blood can be nasty

Um, AFAIK there was no misdiagnosis/malpractice implemented in first place. It ended up like many other things that did not managed to get in release: to be implemented later. Later means here same thing as Blizzard's Soon(TM).
