A New Planet
« on: July 09, 2015, 09:51:24 am »

In the 73rd century, mankind has spread across the stars, finding and colonizing new worlds, discovering ancient technology, and building great fleets. As the human empire expanded, many intrepid explorers set forth. One of these groups, in the S.S. Unstoppable, discovered a planet. This planet once had a colony, but it had been wiped out.  For this was an extremely deadly planet, where it seemed every life form could kill humans. The explorers catalogued all the flora and fauna. This is the catalogue.

Name: Spike Traps
Description: This is a dark blue plant species. It appears to be a blue shrub, but it's roots can extend for up to a mile and a half. It sticks small spikes out. These spikes also release spores. If one is to cut themselves on these spikes, or inhale the spores, it will cause certain chemical reactions in creatures. It will cause the infected to attack any creature near them, with lethal intent. Getting cut by one of these is most likely a death sentence, as the spores cause the subject to gain sharper nails and teeth, which both secret multiple different types of viruses and bacteria. It also removes the subject's limits due to lack of full brain control. Even though they remain just as intelligent as before, their speed and strength is always at their peak point. Within a week of infection, the subject will then seek out a hot, humid place with sun directly hitting. They will then guard this area as much as possible, keeping the dead bodies they gain. If they did, or defend for three days, the land spikes will kill the host, using their bodies and any others to grow rapidly. Soon, another species finds an unprotected area, not noticing the land spikes. Thus, the cycle starts again.

Name: Silver Auroch
Habitat:Plains, sometimes Forests.
Physical Description:Silver Aurochs are big, bulky, short-tempered bovines. Every single of them has a thick carapace made out of silver, used to protect them against predators. Their hoofs and horns are also made out of silver. What causes the growth of metal in their body is still unknown.
Behavior: Silver Aurochs are herbivorous creatures walk in herds, but this behavior is, oddly enough, exclusive to those who thrive on the plains. The ones who inhabit the forests travel in small groups. They're very competitive in regards of mating and will often challange males so they can breed with the female. The duels are mostly non-lethal, although they're well-known for "accidentally" piercing their opponent's lungs and causing their deaths.

They move on two legs, and have two gripping hands that can stick to many surfaces. They also have to claw arms that are used for combat. They have large mouths with huge mandibles. Name: Jaguorm
Habitat:  Anywhere, except oceans
Physical description: Jagorm are huge, one-eyed, half-feline and half-worm. While most of his body is bulky, feline-like and spotted, his mouth is a long extendable tube filled with pointy teeth. His claws are very sharp, designed to pierce hard carapace, such as the one of the Silver Aurochs.
Behavior: They hunt alone and the only moment they socially interact with one of the same species is when mating. They hunt at night and are proficient ambushers. Instead of eating meat, they suck dry their victim's blood. Some subspecies are known for dragging the still-breathing wounded animal to a cave and sucking their blood when hungry. They have an amazing sense of smell and a sharp vision. Nothing escapes their sight.

Name: Ripper
Description: A vine that forms a symbiotic relationship with whatever it gets to. The relationship is mutual, unless the user stops eating. It latches onto whatever touches it and tips into the skin. This causes the subject a great deal of pain. Soon, however, the ripper speeds up the healing process. It also increases strength and speed in symbiotic partner. It will avoid leaving the subject while it is still alive. The subject, however, becomes more territorial. They become more aggressive, but not to the point of attacking what it sees. Should the subject stop eating, however, the Ripper will take over the brain and look for the nearest food source and fight to the death to get it.
((It would be interesting to make a game with these creatures.))
