It seems my host is a lord of the name Vanderson, he is a practitioner of magic and seems to be in good standing in the local mages guild, which is named "Boatmurderd" of all things! His lands also hold a coven of illegal magic, what fun it will be to use their own magic against them!

.... You've doomed us all. Granted. Everyone except for traps are executed. Random sci-fi nonsense is required to be taught in schools.
A cute intersex harem with everyone in love with the androgynous king and smart and useful enough into pushing the kingdom forward.

Fiefdom of Ahlendre
Keep Leyston, City of Mester
First Day of Possession

Spoiler: Fiefdom Ahlendre (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Tjoitke Court (click to show/hide)

It seems your host goes by the name of Vanderson, Tjoitke - and, as his father was, he now is too, a Baron.
The mortal has already lived 22 of the short years that they have on this plane, is unmarried, Schooled in Magic and generally in good health.

As you are right now, even the rather plain magic that he possesses, is above what you can muster in infernal magick.
Distressing, but not a cause for much concern.

~

Ahlendre, the fiefdom of the Tjoitke Legacy, seems to brim with about as much magic, as these base creatures can muster.

A Magic Academy - still paying homage to the original founder - is the same place where Vanderson learned his magic, and the greatest asset of his province.
Not only do these mages strengthen his political position, their readiness for war, is also the biggest "tax" to the local duke, to which the family of Leyston Keep is sworn in fealty.

Inquiring into the mortals memories, reveals another thing of interest. A Dark Coven of unknown location, with practitioners of associated darker arts.
The mortal laments, that it were these people, who tainted his late father's interests.
Thus being part of the atrocities committed against you, there is a good chance that you will have to pay them a visit some time.
Not necessarily a cordial one either.

~

Having taken over a person of somewhat high standing, is a far more favourable occurrence than you had anticipated.

While you are sure to make the most of it, there are a few persons that you feel the need to be concerned with:

Captain of the Guards, Mijkel Vlamis
This man, 4 years Vandersons senior, is his most trusted, and - to all his knowledge - also his most loyal follower. Previously his personal guard, after the inauguration 1 week ago, he was immediately set on his new post. (His predecessor now commanding the City Guard of Mester)
This man, has known Vanderson since his early youth. As such, he is the most qualified to notice something odd about "your" behaviour.

Ministre Eldmerk
Late Baron Tjoitke's new obsession, had not gone unnoticed. "The Church of Eternal Light", has sent one of their agents to investigate the rumours and claims.
While he has allowed Vanderson to clean his besmirched family name by himself, he has a watchful eye on him and his deeds.
Facing him as you are right now, would be foolish - and sure to pave the way for further inquires and agents from said church.

Courtier Aelsefh Ziwek
The youngest brother of five, and Vanderson's late mother, Aelsefh has been a member of the local court for over 15 years. Despite his fondness for booze and women, his uncle has been a valued advisor to the youth, trusted enough to handle most of the fiefdoms trade.
Same as Mijkel, he has known Vanderson for most of the later ones life, and could be prone to notice changes in "your" behaviour.

Prisoner Roderet Tamia
Oh Vanderson. You shouldn't have~
Originally a citizen of the eastern empire, this former courtier is allegedly the chief culprit, who has led the late baron astray. He is currently held in Leyston's dungeon.
Vanderson already interrogated him, in the presence of the Ministre, and it was at this occasion that he vaguely hinted at your own existence...
He is strongly presumed to be in league with the local coven.

While Vanderson has two younger siblings, they visited for the funeral and subsequent inauguration.
Seeing as they have a husband to attend, and a small chapter of knights to lead, you doubt any of them will come back into the picture any time soon.

~

It is currently late in the afternoon, and Vanderson already adjourned court by mid-day.
With no liabilities on the side of your host, you are more then free to do as you wish for the rest of the day.
Still, you might want to plan ahead, considering your power will run dry in about a week.

Well then - having mentioned the gist of things, and the most important persons in attendance, I guess for now the rest is up to you, dear players ;3

There is a balance to be struck, between "railroading", and giving your players freedom to act upon.
Seems like I reached a bit too far into the later, giving you no real choices to act upon at all.

Late Afternoon

As you ponder your options, there is a knock on the door of "The Laboratory", as the late baron used to call this part of his private chambers.
Vlamis desires to know if you are all right in there, seeing as you have been in there for almost two hours by now.
Vandersons private guardsman, sure is one devoted fellow, or so you decide.
How annoying.

You feed him the obvious lie, that "you", are fine.
Considering that his liege has just been possessed by a demon, this might be stretching the truth a fair bit.
A morsel that you find to be more delightful than you originally thought.

Stopping your musings into that regard, you fall into thought;
Considering your current main problem, would be your lack of Demonic Power, The Curses that ravage through your hosts body not dangerous in the near future.
Stated plainly, you are in need of devouring a soul or two. While you still have a good week of time left, depending on your methods this might be time needed.

~

While the city of Mester does have a jail, the previous baron only involved himself if there was to be capital punishment, the punishment pertained a minor noble, or the crime upset larger parts of the peasantry.
For all your host knows, there are currently no such happenstances taking place. Still, changing the barons position on judgement, could prove quite  "profitable" in the future.

An obvious victim to gather souls from, would be the coven.
The problem for this option, is that neither Vanderson, nor yourself know where that coven might be.
Taking care of them somewhat openly, also would have the added bonus of getting rid of Eldmerk, a fact you personally would be quite joyous about.

There were no recent reports of any banditry taking place, but you suppose you could try to isolate beggars, vagabonds and other ilk.
While the fiefs capital is not overflowing with them by any means, you are sure that vanquishing a few lowlifes, would neither arouse immediate suspicion, nor be beyond your means.

Robbing the late barons remaining collection from the trifles of power they hold, might also give you a few days, though the resulting taint would have the risk of garnering attention from Eldmerk.

How do you plan on acquiring some much-needed power, or what other plans might you have?

Magical Residues
Most magic, leaves behind some small disturbances or traces, easy to sense for practitioners of the arts. Especially skilled mages, may even find out what kind of magic was used.
While this is neither surprising, nor a bad thing in and of itself, it becomes one for beings as yourself with magick.
Magickal residue - also called "Taint" - is a dead give-away that magic either uncommon to this plane, or toying with the rules of this plane was used.
Once your power permits, you could circumvent the discovery of your darker deeds by placing wards that avoid the spread of this taint, though it is beyond your means for now.

What's the legality of slavery?

What's the legality of slavery?

Sadly, your host informs you that it is rather illegal, albeit not non-existent.

Safe, of course, for the age-old custom of making a free peasant into a serf, if he proves himself unable to pay greater outstanding debts to his lord. While the fief has a couple of those, they are still very much free men. Minus being able to choose their livelihood, and being able to leave their life here behind, their children retaining the same status...
Actually, you find this law is already quite malicious in its own right, but mending it for worse, is bound to cause quite an uproar.

There is also the custom of taking prisoners of war. While these are treated much like one would expect a slave to be treated, they are rather rare. They are mostly granted as a boon to the borderlands, especially to rebuild fortifications and ease the draft on farming communities. With only light skirmishes in recent years, you doubt any of them to be around.

Illegal slave trading, is existent, but being somewhat of an upstanding and honourable guy, Vanderson has neither contacts nor informations into these matters. Something, that you might be more than willing to remedy.

Interrogate Rodebert. Our unique skills in the art of torture might help in this way.

Find a beggar or other such vagabond and eat their soul.

Call a meeting of the captain of the guards, the treasurer, the Minister, and the city guard mester. Topic matter finding the coven by mass search of the captain of guards and mester. Also arrange for bounties on the location and high ranking members of the coven.

Once their jailed we can torture them in public (weaker ones that is) and eat the stronger ones inside the castle.

Late Afternoon

After some deliberation, you decide upon a plan of action.
The Covenant, despite being the ones most likely to accept your true nature, make a perfect choice as sacrifices to boost your own powers in this plane.

While your host has indeed been planning to do likewise at some point in the nearer future, he was hesitant to call a witch-hung all too early into his rule.
Above such notions yourself, you decide on swift action in that regard, setting plans into motion this evening.
If you can get rid of Ministre Eldmerk with the same move, is to be seen - though you would covet such an outcome dearly.

Informing Vlamis about the matter, he seems a bit surprised by the suddenly offensive stance that his master has taken on the matter, but is rather quick to agree, if not even visibly pleased by the decision.

Sending him away with the details, you will hold court with the attendees in the evening.
For now, you invited Vlamis himself, his previous superior and current Commander of the Mester City Guard, Noitel Gundre, Steward Orfa Lanek, and - obviously - Ministre Eldmerk.

~

Having urged Vlamis to get ahold of Gundre himself, as to lessen the impoliteness of the sudden request, you wander down into the dungeon by yourself.
Truth be told, you could worry less about being polite to the previous captain, but else "your friend" may have liked to partake in the interrogation.
After all, Vanderson would have been very likely to have done so.

Peering into the Roderet's cell, you see the gaunt man in question, tied to the wall with manacles. Enchanted ones, at that; a necessity considering the academy in nearby mester, and this particular prisoner.
While he has been down here for a matter of days, and the enchantments prohibit him from using magic, you still feel a faint touch of taint on him. You guess there is little doubt, that he is involved with the coven.

How do you want to proceed in coercing or interrogating Roderet?
