Apparently, after Capcom refused to finish the nearly-completed MegaMan Legends 3 despite overwhelming demand for the game, Keiji Inafune(creator of Rockman) left Capcom and founded his own game development studio, Comcept. Thier goal is to finally make the long-overdue sequels to the Rockman series, or at least get as close as they can without copyright infringement.

Might No. 9, kickstarter already concluded, raised $3,800,000 out of their $900,000 goal. Including paypal donations they cleared 4 million, reaching all of their stretch goals. M#9 is a spiritual sequel to the classic MegaMan side-scrolling adventures.

Now, they've decided to push this MegaMan-vindication thing even further with Red Ash, an open-world third-person-shooter adventure in the vein of MegaMan Legends. After reaching more than a quarter of their goal on the first day, it seems Red Ash is on track to match Mighty No. 9's success!

But wait, there's more! Red Ash also put up a separate kickstarter for an animated movie that would tie-in with the game!

Personally, I'm a bit underwhelmed by the preview art for Red Ash. The description sounds solid though. MegaMan Legends was one of my favorite adventure games, and I'm very much looking forward to this spiritual sequel.
