Greetings Masterminds,

I just can't figure out how my fort got into the self destructive state it is in now. Everything seemed alright except for a baron that went stark raving mad ( I don't blaim him i do agree my manager had a better dining room ) and a vampire somewhere amongst my bearded alcoholics.

I also just had a siege of Hammerman ( I locked them up for now and killed 2 of them )

Altough as soon as the Elven caravan shows up and or maybe even before that, my dwarf start killing each other when I look in the reports I see : a dwarf yells: Armok, I am sorry but I have to kill this bearded sod. and so on.

Before I know it my whole fortress is into a huge fist fight and well we all know where the FUN goes.

I am aware of what a loyalty cascade is and I am 100% sure I never attacked a caravan, I only bought animals/mounts from the elves/humans in a legit way. The only thing I can recall is i once had a monster visiting me which transformed into a dwarf when it started raining, but my military was not quick enough to kill it and it disapeared of the edge of my land. And it is about 2 years before this cascade begins.

It would be great to know where this is coming from to prevent it in the future.
I have the save file here :http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=10943 It will start after approximatly 3 minutes. (keep an eye on the R menu)
It is on the Masterwork mod.

ANY suggestions are welcome, Cheers!

It's a supposedly fixed issue, but might still happen due to the nature of the system.

Basically what happens is that a dwarf sees two dwarf fighting, and he choses a side to defend. (The fun thing is that if the mad/criminal dwarf is a relative, he might chose to defend him, instead of the rightfull one.)
You now have 3 dwarves fighting, and a 4th dwarf sees them. He choses a side. But he might chose to punch the last joining, instead of the orignial two.

Then it gets complicated, with dwarves seeing innocent dwarves fighting innocent dwarves apparently without reasons and without context, and deciding to get involved.

Technically it's not a loyalty cascade, as they are not labelled "Enemy of the dwarven civ", but it works the same.

Separating (or... neutralising...) the belligerents should fix the issue.
