That's right, I'm considering the undersea palace.  Build glass walls/floors in winter, seal off during other seasons.  I guess sand and ocean also works, if I;m reading the wiki right then the ocean freezes as well.

Do you have any suggestions or favorite seeds in that vein?

Actually, a huge glacier with Magma would be cool too.  Or alternately, I mean.

The circled stream has sand by it. The plains have sparse trees, otherwise there are none. Though I don't think the lake will freeze, since the area is scorching.

FYI: I was using this world as a test to make sure my assumtion is correct that different custom names will still result in the same world, so it is possible to change the name from "Blah boogah" and still have the same result.

I haven't gotten through a year since I'm using the whole area, 106 levels of pure madness/slowness.

Interesting... I'll have to remember that one.  Can you tag topics in this board system?

For now, though, I'm going to stick with Temperate, and I was thinking of branching into Frozen or Cold or whatever.

There's a spot on the seed I mention here that would be perfect... if it gets cold enough there.

I'll have to check when I get home.

Edit: Nope, warm.  And I must have been confusing it with another spot because the shore didn't drop off as fast as I remembered.  It does have magma right by the shore.
