Hey, I'm hijacking this thread again (because derails are always on topic) to run a game of chess.
First two volenteers to play get to.

I won't be updating the images right away for every move, just every second or third move, sometimes fourth or fifth; often enough that you won't lose complete track of what's going on.

The variant of chess that is being played is Defend and Fortify, rules here:
Quote
Chess Varient: Defend and Fortify

A space may be occupied by up to 2 pieces.
A capture does not take place normally; instead you must move a piece into a space that is already occupied by one of your pieces AND the piece you want to capture.
This means an enemy piece can move onto a space that is occupied by one of yours without capturing yours.
The exceptions are the King and Queen, who are captured normally if any enemy piece moves onto their space.
Rooks, Bishops, and Queens may move through and past spaces only occupied by one piece, instead of stopping.
The board starts with two pawns on each starting space instead of one each.
Pawns may now move up to three spaces on their first move, or if the move would result in a captured piece (meaning the target space must have one of your own and an opponent's piece), one to the side and one or two forward (still only on the first move).

Players start with two additional rooks, located with the bishops.
Players start with two additional bishops, located with the rooks.
There is a new piece, the Archer, who can normally only move  one space orthogonally (like a king without diagonals); but when moving a piece from a space containing an archer, you may move the archer with it (and instantly capture a piece they land on). Players start with two archers, on the spaces containing their knights. However, the downside is that if an enemy piece moves onto a space containing an archer, it immediately captures the archer and any other piece on that space.

So just a reminder:
The pieces that can be captured normally are the King, Queen, Archer, and any piece sharing a space with an Archer.
Otherwise two pieces are required to capture one piece.
The King, Queen, and Archer MAY move onto a space occupied by an enemy piece if it captures that enemy piece, otherwise it results in your piece being captured.

Well, I guess MC is the only volunteer, so I'll be his opponent.

MC, do you want Black or White? (Black on top of image)
If you want white, just let me know your opening move.

Go right ahead, it's Mastahcheese vs Nav.

Just need to know who wants white and who wants black.
Feel free to start posting moves whenever.

I'll go second. I tend to work better reactively.

That's too far. QP5 can move to G3, G4, or G5 right now.
I assume you got black and white mixed up and want to move only one space?

Er...
Wait. I think when I made the image, I got Kingside and Queenside mixed up. Arg. BRB swapping all piece positions.

edit: OK I think I fixed my mistake.

So assuming you were moving the fifth pawn on the queen's side by 1

Since updating the image is actually pretty easy and the game is going slow-ish, I guess I can update the board pretty oftem.

So mastahcheese isn't here for a while, but I may as well share another game with his followers.
I'm using Windows 7's Paint program, but not pixellized; I discovered the "Oil Brush", and will be making all the images with that.
Link.
