Mother not sending injured baby for diagnosis
« on: May 23, 2015, 05:50:39 am »

So one of the mothers brought her baby to the tower construction site and the baby was hit by a falling piece of rock. Now the baby has a broken arm but the mother just continues wandering in every meeting hall of the fortress and not showing a single will to send her child for diagnosis. How do I force her to do it or should I cage her for child abuse?

Magma will solve both their problems. As it always does.

Sorry, don't really know.  I do know that a caged, injured dwarf will be retrieved from the cage with the "Retrieving Injured" job, so (as a last resort?) it's possible that if you cage one and/or the other, that will do the trick.

It's also reported in the Wiki that "...a baby will crawl to its burrow...", so if you assign them diff burrows maybe(?) that will get them separated.

Just theorizing here - maybe someone else knows. GL. :/

Babies aren't treated for injuries. Given the baby survives, it will eventually transform into a child, at which time it will seek treatment. I don't know if babies are magically protected from infection, though.

Oh well. Yeah, dwarves...

It was inevitable.
