Not to mitigate the attempts at epicness, but you know, if you want, you can create a long, trap-filled hallway just below the surface with drawbridges on either end, then knock down a wall/dig a ramp to the surface, and shut the drawbridge just after the miner runs back a few tiles, and open the drawbridges as an "airlock" system.  I like to place a wooden door or guineahen in a dead-end to act as bait.  Works great for my GCS traps.

You might need to build a couple in the caverns, get some cavern critters that are tameable and breed, and shove those up as the bait, but it would work at getting control of the map.

Even after the route you have chosen goes through, there will likely be some clowns still alive, so having a GCS web some weapon traps on fake entrances to your fort wouldn't be a bad idea.

SON, I AM DISSAPOINT.

At least the haunted woods are on fire. Maybe a tree will fall on that zombie badger head?

Congratulations, you have now eliminated your first problem by creating a second, bigger problem.

Again, GCS-webbed weapon traps in a narrow airlock leading to expendable livestock FTW. Those should take care of everything but other webbers, which are hopefully rare.  You'll probably want to just close the airlock behind those guys, and find a way to cause a cave-in or something.
