Well "blade-splicers" could work, because you are joining your blade with their body (though only temporarily). :P

"Plazsword" maybe? It's less ambiguous than plasword, and (IMO) I picked the coolest pronunciation.

Plazsword sounds like you're trying to say password while pissed.
Then again, so does plasword, but that one is slightly worse...

I prefer 'blazer' for laser based swords, and 'plasma blade' for plasma swords, of course plasma blade is very generic and could be applied to any plasma based edged melee weapon but to me that's fine.
