A guy with an Australian accent walks into existence. He happens to be Death.

and he is fighting MANBAT a bat dressed as a man

Death draws his scythe. It is made from a particularly persistent sentient fox who kept trying to cheat Death. Scythe flashes, bat looses a wing.

manbat reveals it was all a ruse and that wasn't actually his wing. He then precedes to kill death.

Naturally, he killed it, so he bought it - MANBAT is now the One-Winged Angel of Death (the lost wing was a wooden prosthetic - he lost the actual one in the war)!

Death arrives to claim the dead Death. There are now two Deaths, one alive and one dead.
