Jonathan, John, and Flynn all open fire at the same time, each destroying 3 bottles with ease, while
Frank attempts to get the hang of the rifle. He fires one shot, destroying a bottle, but the recoil knocks him off balance, and he misses the other two.
Meanwhile,
Nando opens fire on the target nearest to him, completely destroying it, before throwing his knife at the pile of scraps that remains.
Connroy, meanwhile, centers two of the three shots in the target, before his shaky hands cause the third shot to miss off to the right.
The sergeant looks at the recruits, as they all turn and face him, and stares at Frank for a moment, before speaking.
"Right, at least some of you can shoot straight. You'll have an hour to wrap up whatever loose ends you have here, before we head out."
Name: Frank Jackson
Age: 22
Backstory: He had been born only a few years before the war had started. He grew up in New Hope and got apprenticed to a simple blacksmith who would fix or touch up on damaged weapons and armor. Unfortunately, the beginnings of this war had started before he had finished it. Wanting to defend his home, he signed up.

Name: Nando Polo
Age: He doesn't know
Backstory: Nando's been traveling around for quite some time. He used to be a performer, expert at juggling. Then he joined a short-lived mercenary group and fought by throwing swords at people. His group somehow got mistaken for criminals and imprisoned, but he managed to escape. Since then he's been wandering around looking for work and falling deeper and deeper into drug addiction.

Backstory: Jon is one of the children born soon after the nukes dropped. When he was 17 his father began to teach him how to use guns, so he could hunt for the settlement. Now that a new war has broken out, he signed up to defend his home (and to polish his marksmanship up a little).

Backstory: Born before the War, he grew up in a small community that got overrun by one of the early warlords that arose in the post-war wasteland. He spent many years as a wandering lost soul, until he found New Hope. Now, he refuses to lose his home(and hope) a second time

Name: Connroy Wode
Age: 62
Backstory: He was born before the great war that tore nations apart, grew up in a rather small town by the coast. As the tragic event happened he traveled the wasteland for years selling his skills as a mechanic to everybody whom needed them. He stumbled upon New Hope in a drunken stupor, trying to convince a group of people into buying his scraps.

Name: Flynn Taylor
Age: 40
Backstory: Flynn likes to tell people that he was in the Army before the war. While technically correct, the truth is he was a REMF paper-pusher for the 25th Infantry in Hawaii. He was on leave with family when the war broke out, and has spent his years since trying to put his half-remembered basic training to use.
