Manual Save Games
« on: May 03, 2015, 01:59:17 pm »

Hey guys, I decided to give myself some previous saves for a game by copying my Region(x) folder after I had saved the game and copying it to another folder. I made several different saves at different times. But now, when I close the game, delete my Region(x) folder in my Save folder and copy my previous Region(x) folder in there and load the game it will load and play for a bit but seems to always end up crashing to desktop.

Am I doing something wrong? And why do they hate extra savegame slots?

edit- I just noticed that little popup after you choose a savegame and it says copy on it haha.  Still, are all my other manual saves messed up somehow? I've really only tried to load the one and it keeps crashing but I have a couple others.

I'm not sure it likes spaces in names and such.  I usually rename it something short and to the point.

Otherwise, I haven't had any problems with copies.

It may be something unrelated to your manual saving causing crashes. My current save has been renamed to the world name, Sil Som, and I have no crashes. Sounds like you are running some version of the Lazy Newb Pack; try disabling Text Will be Text (TWBT) in the LNP menu/gui/popup thing - that fixed the spontaneous crashes I was having on my old mac.

Always a safe default assumption in this game
