Modding nobles?
« on: April 27, 2015, 02:52:41 pm »

I was wondering if it was possible to mod/add noble positions. It would be cool if I could add some sort of senator noble position or some other random honorary title.

raw/objects/entity_default.txt has all of it. See the wiki for specifics on function.

Fucking hell man, you aren't just getting the short end of the stick, you're being beaten with it.

Is your plan really to flush water into hell, and have the CARP marines fight them without threat of flame or disease?  If so, you are awesome, and one of the greatest DF military visionaries I've seen yet ( not that I've seen that many, or any, for that matter )

Thanks! So in theory I could just add as many noble positions as I wanted, right?

It's important to note that you can't really add nobles that do new things. Mostly you'll just be able to make nobles with new names, demands, requirements, and combinations of jobs. So you can make a combination bookkeeper, manager, chief medical dwarf, but you can't make a noble that does anything the vanilla ones don't.

Its a feature. Impregnating booze is a planned tech tree for dwarves and this is a sneak peek at it.
Unless you're past reproductive age. Then you're pretty much an extension of your kids' genitalia

I'm vaguely curious if anyone has managed to implement an immigrating noble like the king. Noble tokens are notoriously tricky to get right though :(.

I think the royal immigration behavior is controlled by being a civ-wide position with the lawmaking responsibility, but don't quote me on that.

So if you have playable goblins, it could be someone... interesting.

Yeah, there is nothing special about the king. It's just a position which comes to your site once it becomes capital, but you could have a lot of different nobles do the same without being "monarch". It's different from the old versions where a cotton candy would bring the king immediately.
