A little question about armor modding

I am creating a piece of armor . What should I do to determine where it will be placed ? I want to place it in the upper arm .

You can not. ARMOR is always UPPER BODY.

HELM is always for the head, SHOES are always on the feet, GLOVES always on the hands, PANTS for lower body. Thats it, you cant change it.

But some armor pieces cover more or less of the body, that you can do. For example plate armor covers less than a mail shirt does.
