Having captured the Creator of the universe, plus at least half of His servitor gods, I think I might take another crack at the Challenge Championship, seeing as I have little else to do - despite the fact that the only legendaries I've been able to enter are Cresselia and Diancie(haven't checked my entire roster). There is one or two things left, though.
First is...
Back here to the Madrigal Garden. I haven't forgotten about her.
I've been able to confirm with a dry-run that Meloetta's catchable now. Unsure if the latest patch fixed it or it was bastard's luck. Now, I could just lob my spare Master Ball at Meloetta and be done with it, but I've got something special planned instead(plus, Latios is still hanging around somewhere...).
"music.""then to simply serve me?""of Evoas is!""known!"(No, the battle didn't quite go like that, mainly because Dark Sonata is still broken and doesn't do anything - it's description implies a 100% OHKO that's only useable once per battle. Meloetta did outspeed and one-shot Mawile with Close Combat, though.)Yes, I did seriously just
Rick-Roll capture Meloetta. Upon capture, she drops the dumb gothic look and attitude. Also upon defeat, the Garden loses the fog around it and the people formerly held in Meloetta's thrall are freed and stop looking purple.
"today!"Oh really? Just TRY to get a gamer to go to an opera, even one that's
not being performed by a literal goddess of music who may or may not have plans to enslave the universe. See how that works.
"I can't believe I let myself go like that! I'm still in shock about the whole event..."First she's pillaging entire nations, now she's omgwtfamIdoing?, and later, PTSD.
"anyways. Now that that freak is gone, maybe we can tidy it up, yknow?""Hey! What's wrong with my gardening?! And did he just call me a freak?!"I'm pretty sure that at this point he
does have every right to complain, you know.
Leaving the Madrigal Garden forever, I head to Cephei Town, where one of Meloetta's fans teaches her Relic Song to replace the horribly broken Dark Sonata. I also discover that Meloetta can be entered into the Championship Challenge. I'm not quite sure how to build her stats; in her Aria(the current) Forme, she focuses on Sp. Atk and Sp. Defense. I assume in her Piroutte Forme, her physical stats are the focus. Even so, even at her current state, unoptimized and 20 levels lower than everyone else, he stats hold up pretty well, so I expect her to be a good competitor.
Chatot also looks like a good choice, since she has quite a bit of HP, and I just taught her Boomburst from the Event Tutor. EVs may need to be reset to get the most of that, though. Then again, her other stats are garbage.
The second stop, however, is one I've known about for a long time, but never got around to it. First, I head back to the Police Club HQ in Fianga City. The chief doesn't have any more missions, but he does offer something else.
"Exterminator's License, if you'd like. How about it? >Yes/No"
The License Template was a Mystery Gift item. I held on to it in case there was some other choice for its use. There isn't.Yes, that's correct. The Vesryn Police Club also runs a business forging documents. Isn't the legal system the greatest?
It's actually called the VIP License. Instead of being an Exterminator - not that I need a license(fake or not) to show I'm good at removing problems, I'm a VIP member of the Psychic Temple in Agassiz Town... that was closed down due to an infestation of vermin that they're waiting for a licensed exterminator to deal with. Yes, that's correct. The police gave me the
wrong forged license that just happens to give me access to the same location anyways.
So, the next stop is the Psychic Temple... which for some reason is still full of Olympus Grunts. Anyway, at the top of the tower, I find the "vermin".
Hey now, Mew isn't vermin! It has every right to be here - Psychic Temple is ostensibly a place for Psychic-type Pokémon to rest. Plus, nobody should really be surprised that it's Mew, seeing as I had to beat Mewtwo to get here.
It is so freaking adorable.
...And surprisingly easy to catch. Just False Swiped it to 1HP, then a standard Pokéball.
Mew's current moveset is crap, and its stats leave something to be desired(may be due to level though). Theoretically, Mew should be able to learn any TM, but I've already discovered that it can't use TM122 Plutoforce - haven't found
anything that can use that, not even Arceus.
The last stop before going back to space, is Constance City. Another one that I never got around to before. Rather, another
three.
Each of these statues requires a Weatherstone. I've got one from the Tesseracted Safari Zone in this city, and Steven Stone gave me the other two after I beat him in his house on the space colony.
I would say they were harder than Mew, easier than Meloetta. All three had Pressure and Roost. I managed to get all three into Dusk Balls with some difficulty.
The last stop(for real this time), is Kingdom City. There's one little trade.
I wonder what he could possibly offer for Arceus.
Well...
"You just offered me Arceus for something you don't even know. Well, you're certainly a gullible one. Keep your Arceus- take this instead."I get the Kangaskanite.
While I'm here in Kingdom City...
"I'm smart, cool, attractive, a good Pokémon trainer and a respected individual. You're... well, you're... You're none of those things! HEYO!"*received Burn Heal*
Huh. Well. I don't particularly need to boost my ego putting other people down, and if I do need the ego boost, I just remember that I've saved two regions, destroyed and captured several gods, and have the Creator itself in my pocket, things you'll never accomplish.
I bet you wish you still had that Burn Heal, don't you?
Now, it's back up to the space colony. Of all the legendaries I've captured, the following are what is allowed to be brought into the Championship:
- Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres
- Mew, but not Mewtwo
- Celebi. Ho-Oh is banned, I've not seen any trace of Lugia, and the other Gen II legendaries are unobtainable(a walkthrough of FR/LG I have says they're not Uber-tier so I assume they'd work)
- The Gen III Regi trio.
Regigas has yet to be located, and I doubt it's acceptable Was later found and is acceptable - Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf
- Cresselia. Darkrai is unobtainable, though I heard it's signature move is banned from competitive play
- Heatran.
- Shaymin
- Phione and Manaphy
- Victini. Jirachi is unobtainable(but probably acceptable)
- All four Swords of Justice
- Landorus, Thundurus, and Tornadus
- Meloetta
- Volcanion(not 100% sure if legendary)
- Zygarde, though both Xerneas and Yveltal are banned
Every other legendary not mentioned is banned or hasn't been encountered, including Palkia, Giratina, Arceus, and Genesect. No idea on Latios, I still haven't encountered it.
Now, to optimize some of those legendaries' stats. Checking Meloetta, using Relic Song to change Forme causes her gain nearly 100 Attack while losing close to the same amount of Sp. Attack. In Piroutte Forme, her Sp. Defense drops significantly, but her Speed(rather than Defense) goes up.
After taking some time to max her IVs and level, and set her EVs spread primarily for Attack, Sp. Attack, and a little bit for HP, her stat sheet is pretty impressive. Her Aria Forme Sp. Attack is greater than Arceus', and her HP is nearly so(more than I thought for a non-tank).
I couldn't find any moves to take advantage of her Serene Grace(or any moves I could give her at all for that matter). So Relic Song causes sleep. I'd have known that if the text wasn't cut off.
Tornadus is next. I give him Toxic to take advantage of Prankster, and Sky Drop to take advantage of Toxic. Speaking of the Kami Trio, I bring all three with Meloetta to the Therian Plateau, since I remember reading about how that's how the three got their Therian Formes in the anime.
Well, I didn't find anything specifically requiring them here, even with the Time Caller.
However, I took a closer at the site and noticed something was blocking me from going around the shrine platform.
The change in Forme reduced Tornadus' Attack and Special Attack by 18 each, while Defense, Special Defense, and Speed went up by 12 each(currently at level 60).
As for what to do with Tornadus, his current stats seem geared for offense, with a low Defense, but fairly good Sp. Defense. Speed is pretty high. A test battle reveals that Sky Drop is broken and only does basic damage on the turn it's used, so I replace it with Fly. Another battle reveals the Tornadus is recovering HP when he switches, and unless his ability changed to Regenator(despite clearly saying Prankster) with the Forme change, I have no idea why he's healing. I assume it was changed, since another battle against a Speed Boosted Ninjask did NOT give priority to Toxic. That sorta blows, though I ought to give Tornadus U-Turn to work that(couldn't learn Volt Switch). Toxic is kept since it's still useful.
Getting Tornadus to maxed stats, I feel that Tornadus doesn't quite have the offensive power I envision. At least he's fast, though, and still tops most of the non-legendaries I've been using so far.
Third, I'll try Regirock, for tank support. Immediately, I remove Ancientpower and Charge Beam for Rest and Substitute. Strategy should be to have Tornadus Toxic them, then switch to Regirock to stall. Maxing this one out, Regirock's Defense is almost 600. If only it learned Power Trick...
With this team, I take a shot at the Challenge Championship... and get repeatedly stomped. It's been very insistent/consistent about giving me nothing but Steel-, Ground-, and Rock-type opponents. I try to swap Meloetta with Victreebel, only to be informed I'm not allowed to have identical hold items(Victreebel and Tornadus both have Focus Sash), which is again bullshit since I see multiples of Leftovers all the time. I'll try swapping Tornadus instead.
...And the same thing happens. The game most certainly is picking opponents with (often unfair) advantages against the teams I pick.
Annoyed, I go look up the Ancient Tome locations(which confirmed what I already assumed about Regigas). Turns out I missed Fianga's, Blackfist's, Dojran's, and Skadar's. The Dojran Tome was unforgivable, since it was located in a wall when all the others were in furniture. Then, I go take them to guy in Ladoga who wanted them.
"Take this!"I get the Continent Rope. And of course, I know exactly where to use it.
Somewhere on Route 320..."There's a hook on the door where a rope could loop through.
!
The Continent Rope fits perfectly!"I can only wonder why an Escape Rope couldn't work, or even try tying Victreebel's vines or one othe local Tentacruels' tentacles onto it.
Why not? ...Besides to possibility of some sleeping ancient evil that must not be released.
So, why not?
A cave, and already I see a statue and a sign.
...Erm, I have Arceus with me.
Might be a Jewish reference(the Regis are based off the Jewesh legend of the golem). The map name is called Malchut.
The next room appears to be a Strength puzzle. There's another sign. This map is titled Yesod.
"Up ::: Beauty"Right ::: Victory"Huh. I almost brought Victini with me too.
After a couple of attempts, I get the next areas open.
The top left, Splendor(Hod) appears to be a maze of crystals, but there's no exit except to Beauty(Tiferet). Entering Beauty from Yesod leads to a cliff drop, while entering from Splendor crosses a bridge into Victory(Netzach). In Victory...
I catch a glimpse of Regigas before it flees. In the room I find a green crystal that opens up the back end of Splendor, which leads into Might(Gevurah). In Might, there's nothing but a gap to jump across, leading into Understanding(Binah).
"Two stones send you to where you began and they are not Gold or Blue. There are more to my right then my left, as the gems lie in a row. Touch not what is naught or whence you came, for it is me need to go!"Purple.
Actually, I was wrong. It was Blue - the others send me back to Zarivar Town. The door opens into Knowledge(Da'at). From there, I simply Rock Climb to Crown(Keter).
I assume I'll need to bring the other three Regis here. I do have Regirock with me.
...
That was annoying having to go all the way back to town to get Regice and Registeel.
The next statue wants "the stones of an ancient race".
The last one says "Bring me the steel of a dying age so that I may set you free." That's a bit more onorous.
Finally, the way is open.
There's no indicator of its Slow Start. But that doesn't mean much. A single Heavy Ball is all it takes.
Regigas is allowed into the Championship. Slow Start and relatively poor Sp. Attack makes it a little unattractive.
Looking online for some strategies, I find a few possible teams. One I saw had a shiny PokéRus Charizard Y(I think I know where that Mega Stone is) in a Master Ball(though it was bred, not caught), a shiny Delta Aggron in a Master Ball, and a non-shiny Garchomp that was caught(in a
Master Ball) on Midnight Way, despite me never having seen Gible there at all. So yeah, that sounded encouraging. At least, encouraging actual game-hacking(or far too much work for any normal human). The only save hacking I've had success with(beside EXP, which didn't help) was money, which only saves hours and hours of grinding against Morgan.
Another, far more sensible team had Garchomp, Delta Victini, and Aegislash. So let's go with that. I have a Garchomp, also a shiny Gible I can raise, Victini, and
Soul Edge Excalibur to raise. Other parties I looked at have things like Greninja, so I pick Greninja instead of Garchomp.
Actually, I decide to instead breed Excalibur the Honedge(for no other reason than to rename it Soul Edge)... with a Probopass. I think the physics of that are best left unexplored.
*cough*
"Sword in the Stone" doesn't work, Excalibur is the female in this relationship. In the meantime, I work on Greninja and Victini. Greninja gets it's Hidden Ability, Protean, which changes his type to the move being used - before use, so it always gets full STAB - and may well screw with the RNG for determining opposition. Likewise, I take Victini to Delta Temple to get it turned into a Fairy. I noticed that its Flame Charge move turned into Fairy Fyre, which is labeled "This move is also Fire-type". Delta Victini looks ridiculous, but I'm past the point of caring.
Next, I start to max out Greninja and Victini's EVs. I do wish to apologize to Beheeyem, Gothitelle, and Machop for putting you ladies - all three were coincidentally female - into Day-Care for use as literal punching bags.
Then, I hatch a new Honedge. I name her Soul Edge, and start feeding her Rare Candies.
(Took me a while to realize I needed a Dusk Stone to evolve Doublade >_<)
Aegislash's Pokédex entry lacks the proper Formes.
Testing Soul Edge - I am disappointed that she cannot learn Giga Drain to steal souls(or deal with pesky Ground-types) - changing Formes shifts her stats by 240 points to either her Attack/Sp. Attack or Defense/Sp. Defense depending on Forme. Also completely broken(in a good way) is King's Shield, which is like Protect with no fail chance. I put as many PP Ups as I can into that.
Time to take another attempt at the Championship... and lose in the 7th round to Dawn, with a Togekiss that did
far more damage than it should. That said, I forgot to give hold items, or even optimize Soul Edge. And yes, every single opponent was built to counter at least one of my team.
During one battle against Mossdeep Gym's Tate and Lisa(note, in Emerald it's Li
za and Tate), which was a double battle against Slowking, Metagross, Starmie, and Reuniclus. Slowking managed to take out Metagross himself, then suicided with a Life Orb while taking down Reuniclus at the same time! For a pair of psychic twins, that wasn't very coordinated.
Another attempt. Repeated fails, mostly due to RNG. I swap out Victini with Meloetta. The resulting picks to counter my team were... interesting. I think they were considering Meloetta's Piroutte Forme, not her Aria Forme.
Round 1: Janine. Team: Crobat, Nidoqueen, Roserade.
Round 2: Do-Youn. Team: Honchkrow, Dragonite, Gliscor.
Round 3: Flannery. Team: Ninetales, Arcanine, Torkoal.
Round 4: Demetri. Double-battle. Team: Reuniclus, Gothitelle, Mega-Alakazam.
Round 5: Agatha. Team: Spiritomb, Crobat, Aegislash, Mega-Gengar.
Quarterfinal: Flint. Team: Torkoal, Infernape, Mega-Typhlosion, Whiscash(really?).
Semifinal: Hugh. Team: Emboar, Mega-Ampharos, Flygon, Bouffalant.
Final round:
Team: Serperior, Krookodile, Darmanitan, Mega-Alakazam.
One down, and, according to what I saw on Reddit, about 50 more to go...
God I wish was joking about that 50 wins...I get TM108 Angel Wings. It gives massive stats boosts, but makes everything that hits you super-effective. According to the receptionist, it's useful for Baton Pass since the weakness effect doesn't pass. She also notes that further victories only give Rare Candies, which at this point are completely worthless. I don't get the reward for beating Dad, since he didn't show up. According to the Reddit thread I saw when looking up parties to use, his appearance is random.
Before I try again, I notice that my team was NOT healed after winning. Another victory does not increase my rank, but in addition to Rare Candies(I didn't get a chance to count how many), I get some Heart Scales and IV Stones - again, fairly useless at this point. I also did notice that both Cheren and the latest final round opponent, Hilda, are both really easy; both were swept mostly by just Greninja.
During another attempt, I learned Wildfire
does spread to other Pokémon on your team if the target is Grass-type, but apparently only
your team. My last attempt at using it did not do that. Later on in the same run, I learn that Volt Switch does not trigger a Life Orb's self-damage(even if the user cannot switch), but the power is still boosted. Again in the same run, I took down Hugh's Mega-Ampharos. Despite Mega-Ampharos' Ability being Mold Breaker, Soul Edge was still paralyzed by Static. Almost lost because of an unusually high rate of immobility.
Upon completion of the 3rd Championship, my rank becomes Junior.
5th victory grants the Veteran rank. I've yet to see Wilson, but the lineup has sent Dragon-type users such as Clair and Drayden(whom Zeus is based off), as well as Steel- and Flying-type users, so it should be possible. I'll also note that Clair and Drayden show up in Round 5-6, which is normally Elite Fours.
6th victory didn't increase rank, but in the final round, Greninja managed to solo Cynthia - team: Spiritomb, Mega-Garchomp, Lucario, Gastrodon - and survived with exactly one hitpoint, due in no part to anything but the last attack's Life Orb drain leaving him at one hitpoint.
7th victory - nothing, except the normal victory package.
8th victory - nothing.
An attempt after this, and during a battle against Flannery, her Torkoal came out shiny. During the same run, a very special opponent appeared.
Of course, he doesn't have a standard team...
REALLY? GODDAMN IT, DAD, YOU SICK BASTARD.
Whatever the hell that was, it was not weak to Ice Beam, but got frozen so it couldn't attack.
I'm guessing that's called Samus? By the way, she's almost the only female Pokémon besides my own(Aegislash, Meloetta is technically genderless) and female-only Pokémon to show up in this tournament.
Greninja is ripped apart by Fire Blast, and Meloetta is taken out with some recoil move called Solar Charge. Then Soul Edge is burned to death.
Okay, so that run didn't go so well. I'll add Wilson to the list of trainers that are unbeatable(right now it consists of Steven, Marshal, Caitlin, Miranda and Rosa). It would be nice if I could figure out the types. ShineFlygon was not weak to Fighting, so she wasn't a Steel-type nor Flying-type. (a later appearance confirms GigaGoomy is Dragon/Steel. Solar Charge is Fire-type. ShineFlygon's type is still unknown, but I presume it's Fire/Dragon)
9th victory - nothing. Seriously, when am I going to rank up again?
10th victory promotes me to the Victor rank.
11th victory - nothing. I did discover two things during this run, though: you can freeze an opponent with Ice Beam even through a (destroyed in the attack) Substitute, and if both your last 'mon and the opponent's last 'mon are both taken out by the opponent's Destiny Bond, you win(technically, the opponent should win since your 'mon faints first).
12th victory - nothing.
13th victory - nothing. I wasn't expecting a promotion anyway.
14th victory - nothing. Flannery made another appearance(finally) during this run. Her Torkoal was no longer shiny. Of all the luck to find a random shiny, it's one I can't even catch. As far as I know all the shinies I've got - Rare Egg Gible, Andromeda Steelix, and the Wonder Cave Unown - are all guranteed shinies. Besides that one Torkoal, Lance had the Red Gyrados, but I assume that's intentional.
15th victory, and I am promoted to the Hero rank.
After a few bad starts(and one crappy finish), I head out to max out Greninja and Soul Edge's EVs. Greninja was one EV point away from maxed Sp. Attack, and I hadn't yet even done Soul Edge's Defense or Sp. Defense. Did it help? No.
A few more bad attempts, and Wilson shows up again. Managed to beat down Samus, but eventually lost to his other two abominations: Hydreigod and Megasparce, both of whom he's used already. ShineFlygon is obviously Fire/Dragon, though I only learned this after Soul Edge(who has Rock Slide) went down. Next time, I might just do it, if I can keep Greninja alive to battle Megasparce. Meloetta can handle Hydreigod herself; her Focus Sash keeps her alive long enough to use Relic Song and her Pirouette Forme is fast enough to hit with Close Combat first. That just leaves Soul Edge against GigaGoomy(easy) and ShineFlygon(not so much).
16th victory - nothing. Greninja soloed Cynthia again - again surviving with 1 hitpoint.
17th victory - nothing. Encountered Juan from Emerald for the first time. Like Clair(who incidentally came right after him), he shows up in the Elite Four rounds. His portrait was correct, but his battle sprite was Wallace's for some reason.
A note about Round 5 and 6. In addition to Elite Fours, it also appears to have 8th Gym Leaders - Clair, Juan(no Wallace so far, either here or in R7-8), Miranda, those people. No Giovanni(dead). Rounds 7 and 8 have player characters, rivals(no Jake), and Champions - Steven, Lance, etc(no Mom, despite her saying she was competing). No Red or Brendan(again, dead), and no Mae, either.
18th victory - nothing.
19th victory - nothing. Lance's Gyrados confirmed for shiny. Almost lost due to flinching twice in a row from Waterfall. Also beat Caitlin and Rosa, but I hesitate to remove them from the unbeatable list - Caitlin especially since I only won due to critical hits.
20th victory, and I am now a Champion... for the third damn time.
21st victory - nothing.
22nd victory - nothing.
23rd victory - nothing. The last two runs gave me Hilbert for the final round. Which is good since Hilbert is easy. The only threat is his Mega-Bisharp, and that falls to a single Sacred Sword or Close Combat(and never fails to attempt Sucker Punch on the first turn - when I switch to either of the above).
24th victory - nothing.
25 victories and I am now... the Master. During this run, I learned that if Aegislash is infected with Mummy - courtesy of the Cofagrigus owned by Shauntal(cute, but seriously needs a new outfit) - she can still change Forme despite losing Stance Change. Using King's Shield appears to reset her ability to Stance Change.
26th victory - nothing.
27th victory - nothing. While I haven't yet bothered to count the Rare Candies, IV Stones, and Heart Scales I get for winning, they're starting to spill over into extra stacks, so I'm guessing about 5 per victory.
28th victory - nothing. It appears to be 3 Rare Candies, IV Stones, and Heart Scales per win.
29th victory - nothing. Had a very lucky run here. In Round 1, Flannery's Ninetales missed with two Fire Blasts in a row, aimed at Soul Edge(who missed with Rock Slide that I meant to be King's Shield -
very lucky miss), and a few other major attacks such as Hi Jump Kick and Focus Blast missed at critical points. Encountered Misty for the first time in a while, I noticed her eyes were green when I could swear they were blue or brown in the anime. That said, in this game her hair is brown when it is very definitely supposed to be red. During Round 6, Soul Edge surprisingly managed to outmatch Caitlin's Metagross and even beat down her Gallade(before Mega-Gardevoir beat her and Meloetta).
After 30 victories, my rank becomes Legend. Dammit! I was expecting King(actually, "Monarch", which is second-highest) at this point. Also, why the hell is it giving me Caitlin in every single tournament now? I can beat her now, but it's annoying.
31st victory - nothing. No Caitlin this time, but I could swear that Blaine didn't have Rotom.
32nd victory - nothing. Got a very lucky win against Rosa in the final round, on account of her Mega-Mawile missing with Play Rough, and being just a bit slower than Soul Edge. Her Ferrothorn's Iron Barbs not triggering the first time helped.
33rd victory - nothing.
Out of curiosity, I took Regice out, and tried using TM122 Plutoforce, and as luck would have it it worked(and on Articuno too). Apparently, it hits the entire opposing team(Ice-type, 100 power). Seeing as I was once nearly lost due to my backup getting hit with Graviforce, I can see the use. While looking up how much longer this is supposed to drag on(actually is 50 wins ;_;),
I saw that I'm supposed to get other <planet>force TMs from win streaks, but the previous four wins were in a row and I did not receive anything. Apparently, you get them from streaks in other areas. I got Saturnforce from a 10-streak in my Gym. I'd play with Articuno using Plutoforce, Angel Wing, and Baton Pass, but it cannot seem to learn Baton Pass.
34th victory - nothing.
35th victory grants me the title of Lord. Hooray, I'm a nobleman now. This was an annoying run. First, I lost to PK-096, then almost lost to Pheobe thanks to Destiny Bond(I still win from that), and Lyra's Mega-Meganium would have won if it knew any offensive moves besides Dragon Tail and Leech Seed.
36th victory - nothing. I changed out Meloetta's Hyper Voice for Fire Punch. I never got to really use it, but I think it changed the lineup enough for Morgan to show up for the first time. Not too hard. I also noticed an issue when using Relic Song during a double battle - Meloetta transforms twice, once for each hit.
37th victory - nothing. Managed to take down Steven, once due to Skarmory's Whirlwind stupidity(but then got stomped by Lucas somehow), and again in a straight up fight. Could have sworn that Steven had Bronzong and not Excadrill, but that may have been PK-096 with Bronzong. May have been dependant on a critical hit, since I'm not sure if Greninja can take down Mega-Aggron from ~75%HP(was ~50% due to aforementioned critical hit). Meloetta's new Fire Punch helped in this run, even though Mega-Aggron Filters it. I also noticed that Pain Split(Fantina's Dusclops) calculates based on total HP, and not percentages.
38th victory - nothing.
39th victory - nothing. Learned that Hugh's Bouffalant has Sap Sipper. Didn't expect that, partly since Greninja usually doesn't survive that long.
After 40 victories, I have the rank of Titan. I suppose I should be wary of my own children overthrowing and castrating me, throwing my junk into the sea.
41st victory - nothing. Noticed I'm getting Roark and a few other Rock- or Ground-types in the line-up, probably due to Fire Punch. Also got Sydney and Karen(both Dark-types) for the Elite Four rounds this run.
42nd victory - nothing. Finally beat that cheating bastard Marshal. That leaves just Miranda and Wilson as the only opponents I'm sure I cannot win against, and Wilson hasn't shown up in some time, not since before win 16. Ironic, I suppose, that it's those two I have not devised a way to beat.
43rd victory - nothing.
44th victory - nothing. Almost lost to Lance in the final round, since Soul Edge missed THREE times while his red Gyrados was asleep.
The next run had a bout of bad luck, first with Greninja getting one-shotted by Roark's Crustle, Greninja failing to one shot Devon's Machamp, getting Marshal for round 5. Good luck happened when Soul Edge managed to bring down Drake's Flygon, and even Kingdra who should otherwise have had Soul Edge dead to rights - dumb fish kept using Dragon Dance despite Soul Edge's defenses being crippled(Flygon's Screech) and out of King's Shields. Then I got Lucas in the final round, and barely pulled through. But it was worth it.
Upon making the 45th victory...
You may bow before your king. No wait, I can end this here, but there is one more rank to go, and I will go for it.
46th victory - nothing. Managed to take down Miranda, mainly due to a critical hit on her Volcarona, though since I did not need to send Soul Edge(can one-shot with Rock Slide), I can probably take her on next time - I just need to worry about Camerupt after that. Greninja soloed Cynthia once more, this time with more than one hitpoint remaining.
47th victory - nothing. Lost to Wilson again. My strategy of using Rock Slide on ShineFlygon didn't work, since she one-shot Soul Edge. Meloetta almost took her down, but wasn't fast enough even in Pirouette Forme. Greninja beat her, but Hydreigod was faster than him. I *might* have done it if Relic Song put ShineFlygon to sleep, as I have already determined that Pirouette Meloetta is faster than Hydreigod, or if ShineFlygon used Earthquake instead of Solar Charge(which Soul Edge might survive).
48th victory - nothing. First time in a LONG while since Lorelei appeared - not since I've started winning apparently, since her name doesn't appear anywhere in this update.
49th victory - nothing. Got Lorelei again. Even more odd, right before her was Koga, same as the previous run. Buy hey, one more to go!
For the final run...
I got a lot of Fighting- and Psychic-type users - Maylene and Chuck early on, Lucian and Will in the E4 rounds. But still...
Ironic, that the last opponent for my final Championship is the same as my first one.
That's right. I'm not just a king, I am now the King of Aroma - plus, the defacto ruler of Vesryn due to warlordism and whatnot.
"Championship!"And it only took me 2 months of grinding!
I receive... a Burnt Photograph?
And also, I get the standard package of obsolete Rare Candies, etc.
I never beat Wilson, but according to the wiki, all I get from that is a choice of one of Mom's legendaries - Entei, Suicune, or Raikou. Worthless.
Now, I would have just put a stop this LP right now, but this photograph has me intrigued. It's description reads "A polaid photo of a golden monster emerging from the ruins of Nyasa Town."
While I did look up the ranks, this photo was indeed a surprise to me.So... I get to capture Divaevus? I wonder what the old photograph guy
in Nyasa Town has to say about this.
First, it's back to Earth, where I fall over sick from being outside Earth's gravity for several weeks, then I strap on my Rocket Boots and launch myself at Cephei Town.
Victory tours for the win.
I immediately fly home.
(I didn't bring Cresselia, and to hell with teaching Meloetta Tesseract)
"for you?"Uh... yeah, look at this photo of the town being destroyed. Which I certainly didn't witness coming from the future and all. Yeah...
"But the town... it's destroyed."Yeah, that's totally not about to happen.
"It looks like it's coming out of the Collider. How odd."After talking to him, there's a slight change to the town.
I can access that triangle thing.
...Wait. That would mean that Team Olympus
didn't destroy Nyasa Town by summoning Divaevus. Divaevus was summoned by... OH HOLY FREAKING CRAP GODDAMMIT >_<.
But now I
have to do it. Time paradoxes and all.
Ignoring the fact I stole the Time Caller before Zeus got it."Beneath it, you can hear an odd screeching sound."Probably Volcanion. Not Divaevus at all.
"Investigate?" >Yes/NoNo! Goddamn paradoxes. *sigh* Yes.
Wait. Wouldn't catching Divaevus cause a time paradox?
"time?"YES, I'VE ALREADY FIGURED THAT ONE OUT, GAME.
Fuck it. TIME PARADOX!
Hell yeah, and it only took 20 balls!
Everyone is still dead. Oh well.
Hey, I was right, Divaevus
is -type! Crap stats, crap moveset, but is allowed in the Championship(not that that matters anymore).
I guess that's it then. I saved Vesryn from a loose mad god, I saved Aroma's government from being overthrown, I overthrew the Aroma government, and I set loose a mad god in Vesryn. All in all, a pretty good run, I'd say.
I want to thank everyone for watching this.
