Author Topic: Does anyone know how to make plants harvestable in adventure mode?  (Read 2317 times)

At present you do not seem to be able to harvest the edible plants that grow in the caverns in Adventure Mode.  I would like to change this for the next edition of my Mod, making plump helmets harvestable.  Looking through the files I come up with these reactions from Knight Otu.

The first reaction has no reagents.  The second does.  Is it that the lack of reagents causes it to look for existing objects to 'pick up' because I cannot see anything specifically about picking things up in the first reaction.

No, the reaction creates the product out of thin air. Or it tries to, anyways. It doesn't have a 100% success rate.

You could give the underground crops edible growths that grow year round. Growths can be picked in adventure mode, when they are in season.

How?  Also would those growths then be harvestable in Fortress Mode instead of the plant or could we define it so that the growths are what is harvested instead of the plant itself?

GoblinCookie, check out the Plant Fixes raws for Plump Helmets, Rope Reeds & Pig Tails. These are all harvestable in adventure mode without breaking anything in fortress mode.

I'd give you more specific info but I can't download anything on the computer I'm currently on, and I don't remember the details without having the raws in front of me.

Great, I will download your mod, study it and see to adapting Direforged plants (cave gourds and crested helmets) to use a similar system themselves.  That will now be the hard part.
