Missing stepladder
« on: February 17, 2015, 02:51:47 am »

I've downloaded df 40.24 and patched it with mayday's tileset as shown here: http://goblinart.pl/vg-eng/DFGtutorial.php

Yet, to my disappointment, there are no stepladders in the game. Carpenter's workshop doesnt have an option to construct it. I've checked the raws item_tool.txt and entity_default.txt, and they do have stepladder associated parts. The world is generated in the same 20.24 version.

Any help on how to bring stepladders back is appreciated.

Just did a simple test: loaded the save from text version in graphics version. It brought back the stepladders, even though all the tiles are messed up now, of course.

Well I think your graphics pack's raws didn't have the ladder.
Maybe you can try download the lazy newbie pack.

That might be it. I've just copied item_tool.txt and entity_default.txt from text-only version, created a new world and voila - stepladders are there and all tiles are fine.

Now I just need to make it work in my existing save. It is a world from the same version (40.24) that for some reasons doesnt have stepladders. It also has ALL the goblin cities clustered on one island, with 1 free tile RIGHT in the middle of it, ripe for settlement by some crazy dwarves looking for fun times.

Is there any way to re-generate the world so the landscape/civs/etc. are the same?
