Question for Running Mods on OS X
« on: February 07, 2015, 02:53:48 am »

Is there any confirmed method to run any of these glorious mods on OS X?
I've tried swapping various files with vanilla DF and doing some research but I'm not gaining progress. Even if the light is dim at the end of this tunnel, I'm really just interested in content for adventure mode. As a last resort I can run a virtual machine but with a game this complex and resource demanding, it's not reasonable.

All mods that don't come with a full copy of the game should work 100% with OS X, installing exactly the same as on Windows (I.E merging the raw folder)

Note that "merging" folders on OS X isn't a matter of copying the new folder over the existing folder - you'll have to copy over the folder contents instead (e.g. copy over everything in the mod's raw/objects folder to DF's raw/objects folder instead of copying the folder itself).

There was a typo in the siegers' campfire code. When the fires went out, so did the game.

And some mods ask you to remove contents of the original folder, so pay attention to that.
