I am curious to see if anybody on this forum would be willing to try a PBP game of 1st Edition Advanced D&D, with me as the DM.
It will be fairly open ended, not too high magic, somewhat dungeon crawl focused. I want it to be a bit of a challenge, but not necessarily unfair. Death can happen, but if you are smart and know when to fight or flight, you should be able to make it.
I don't really mind your history/experience with D&D/AD&D, 1st ed isn't really that complicated.
House Rules (So Far):
-Initiative is decided individually, its a d10 + either weapon speed or casting time - Reaction Adj from Dexterity
-Expirience from gold and treasure is gained only once you manage to bring it in to civilization/where you can use it
-Unearthed Arcana won't really be used that much, don't really like the classes from it, most of the other stuff I don't really know.
-New characters always start at 1st level (But see next rule).
-If your character dies, and you wish to create a new one to continue, your old character can in his life, "bank" experience for the next character. When you spend money for luxuries and other stuff that basically is a 'waste' or has not real effect, the exp that money is worth is banked for the next character. This means that if you die, the next character you roll starts with the exp you banked. Banked exp can never exceed half the experience your current character has total, anything above that cap is wasted.
Dice Rolls
I'll probably do the rolling myself, and stick it in a spoiler at the end of the post. Usually I'll tell you what the result was, and probably the math behind it as well.
Sometimes though I'll say I'm rolling dice but not tell you the result, this is me just rolling behind the DM's screen or something.
