Harvesting exotic material FB?

Is there any way to harvest the exotic material a titan/FB is made of? I've collected the parts of an FB made out of ash, but they just sit in my refuse pile (I had hoped to make lye out of it), and the titan made out of peridot (a gem stone) cannot be butchered, nor is peridot available to my gem cutter. I'm mostly interesting in recovering metals, although I have yet to encounter a metal titan/FB (but I've heard of the dreaded bronze colossus).

"Honey, please pass the Forgottenbeast salt." Yeah, it would be fun to be able to harvest their bodies!! Muhaha... you CAN use their meat/fat and stuff but not like ash and refuse stuff.

Yes, I've butchered FBs in the past and gotten bones, shell (my only source, at that time), meat, and at one time some forgotten beast fluid, and when I get to it I'll probably butcher the one behind a wall in the caverns (I've got a drawbridge, but nothing else on the inside, and so need to add some menacing spike traps and another drawbridge, but it's contained, so there's no hurry).
The FB made of grime simply dissolved after a fair while, I think, as the dorfs didn't haul it to the refuse pile as far as I could see, and I couldn't find it there after it was gone).
