Has anyone tried modding all sentient races to have [NATURAL_SKILL:DISCIPLINE:15] ? That would seem to be something that could be tweaked to see what setting gives the best results.
Did that fucking hated it because it brought back the one thing I disliked about being super evil, which if you do a single murder everyone will know about it and start gunning for you, that and produced more soldiers and guards than peasants. it makes taking over a site mostly impossible to retire since the slight sense of aggro will spark a bloody fight and since your an enemy of the town everyone guns after you. on top of that if you piss them off you can't fast travel until you leave the 10x10 embark tile site by foot. I like it better when if the town forms an angry mob and they don't see you can escape in via fast traveling though if you get caught by the mob's * you get ambushed.
atleast it's better than running for miles when no one is chasing me until the game saids "okay you ran far enough you can fast travel now."

So far the only bandit type that attacked me were usually Tent guys and the occasional bandit camp raid. that said it's not like NOONE would fight you, there still forgotten beasts, demons/"Vault stuff", bogeymen(they stop fighting you if you have nofear on and only attack if you hit them), zombies, occult stuff.

Then again I tend to play my games super passively and still get attacked.
oh well good thing people can become traders now.

What you could try is to duplicate the castes. Like make a MALE_TOUGH and FEMALE_TOUGH caste for each race, and set both the discipline skill, and a POP_RATIO on those castes to whatever suits you. That should allow you to tweak how many guards are spawned, and what exact percentage of the population will be aggro, and their exact base discipline, without turning the entire population into crazed zealots every time. Maybe make a small percentage MALE_BESERK and FEMALE_BESERK too, and give these ones PRONE_TO_RAGE as well as the discipline boost. With a range of castes, you can simulate each race getting a range of possible discipline and aggro levels.

You could even use the CASTE_PROFESSION_NAME tokens for debugging the process e.g. make a "tough" version of each professsion so you can see which individuals are getting the discipline boost.
