Because we're incapable of it. We're part of the hivemind, remember? It's sort of like if a human were put into an Asimov-compliant 'borg. We're still individuals, but we can't violate certain laws. Such as "Work for the greater good of The Mind."

This was an amazing game (especially for your first game), and the reveal was one of the best I've seen. How did you generate the faces and species? Also, why did everyone put up no resistance whatsoever to The Mind's demands? Surely someone could have shouted out that the mind existed before being silenced if they had wanted to.

For NPC faces I used Guild Wars 2 and for species my custom generator based on piecewise's Automorphica.

Oh I didn't even notice the game was over. Personally I thought the humans had no chance at all of winning from the start, if they were even meant to be able to win (I only skimmed the ending I'm assuming the infected basically took over the world). I was subconsciously bleeding interest every time someone got infected.

Technically there ain't winners, just people with pooled knowledge. The ending was mostly explaining history of The Mind, so taking over the world didn't happen yet. And it may never happen if Theron succeeds in "sequel" because damn mastahcheese feeding me ideas!

Hi. Checking in because my update says you renamed this finale. So this was finished quickly and may I ask, didn't one of you kill Theron?

Nobody got killed. Theron is locked up in holding cells of military escort ship. He will see some action in distant future when sequel boots up, if that's allright for you. Theron is your character after all...

I don't mind, it just kinda threw me when I saw that you mentioned him. I'm rereading through from the start though cuz I missed like 50 pages.
