Hi all!

Can I dig out a channel below the non-walkable tile of magma forge? Will it work in this case? I guess this is the only way to prevent dwarves from being attacked by such creatures like magma crabs because they can attack dwarves through the channels below walkable tile of magma forges, am I right?

Thanks in advance.

That's the usual strategy, yes. Just be careful to seal off the magma source: magma men will destroy the forge from below if *any* other path exists to it, no matter how long, complicated, or not-known-about-by-you that path might be. See the wiki article about building destroyers for examples.

Just make sure to dig the channel *before* you build the forge.
