If the demons have been portalled in maybe the reason they're hostile is they think the dwarves have kidnapped them?

I think the dwarf is still capable of functioning in society slightly, but conscious thought is more along the lines of "Hedgehog cake with bronze fire? Nish has a fish, is this mish!"

I haven't seen cats talk. If they do, it's a bug since they don't have [CAN_SPEAK] in the raws.

This is awesome! The depth at which this game's simulation runs blows me away. Will this ever be featured more prominently in the game? It would be cool if there were a different log window available for these conversations so that your announcement window didn't get cluttered up.
