I think those are the same.

I, personally, prefer sorcerers to wizards. Partly because wizards get banned or nerfed half the time and partly because the whole Vancian thing doesn't always fly with me.

I like the Vancian system to an extent.

It forces you to use a wide variety of spells instead of holding out for a few powerful ones (or a few efficient ones).

To an extent where I am willing to overlook some of its flaws.

But that is because what I love with magic is variety. It is why when I play a Sorcerer I get Shadow Conjuration and Shadow Evocation.
