How do I change the training schedule?

When I go into my military screen to manage the training, I cannot figure out how the heck to change the schedule!! I watched a youtube video and he just set certain months set to "no training" and I've hit every single button on my keyboard and I seriously cant change anything. What am I doing wrong?

The military screen is probably the most impenetrable part of DF's interface.
