Contaminants spread by migrants?
« on: January 03, 2015, 06:39:23 am »

I recently retired a fort in a partly evil biome (mostly due to the zombie giant eagle), where it rained revolting slime, which caused nausea. When migrants arrived in a new fort, some were rather stressed, as I had expected, but later I found water contaminated by revolting slime. Has anyone seen this before?

Also, if you ever figure out why poets/bards/dancers just randomly start butchering people/getting butchered, please don't fix it, I love never knowing when a dance party will turn into a slaughter.

Sounds like someone had a wash, and contaminated your water supply. It's possible it was one of your pre-existing dorfs, but it could also be one of the migrants. They are more likely to have a bath if you have soap, but I've noticed them washing themselves even before I get lye production up to soapy levels.

Overseers have tried to find ways of having self-cleaning water cisterns, but it doesn't always work out as planned...

I know how it got from the migrants to the water, what was interesting was migrants carrying contaminants.

Yep, Migrants can arrive with contaminants on them. The next wave came all bloodspattered.
