Fat, fat, fat
« on: October 14, 2006, 07:55:00 am »

1. Is there any other use for it than making soap?

2. Is there any way to prevent generation/storing of it?

Right now my foodstores are getting filled with fat and my precious barrels taken by it too. I'm getting rid of it by selling it to caravans, but that doesn't solve the problem, only helps endure it.

1. It can be processed into Tallow for use in the cook's kitchen.

2. You could stop hunting and butchering your population of tamed animals. Preventing the storage side of it, however, is impossible.

Don't build barrels or lay out food storage plots.

Not suggesting that you try this at home merely to prevent fat storage.  Just saying that to the industrious dwarf, nothing is impossible!

Well, except maybe realizing that there's a perfectly suitable stone three inches away, that's just as nice as the one eight miles away.

If you have the bookeeper, you can throw the stuff into the chasm too.

I usually just turn it into tallow, and then cook with it.    My chefs have come up with some truly nasty meals with it.

"Horse Tallow Roast"
-This is a stack of 20 superiorly prepared horse tallow roast.  The ingredients are well-minced horse tallow, finely minced horse tallow, superiorly minced horse tallow, and well-mince horse tallow.

Heart Attack on a plate, anyone?

Did you know there are countries in the world where tallow is considered the primary national dish ?
