Toady said the new version is backwards compatible, so how do I download the latest version, whilst ensuring I keep my old saves. Can I also keep the old world?

I'm guessing I just somehow drag and drop the old save files into the newly downloaded folder?

You can either copy the whole save folder into the data folder for all your regions, or just port over the ones you want- until you generate a new world or manually create one there isn't a save folder in any new version. Exceptions to this include the lazy newb pack I believe.
