Dorfs should run straightly to the target
« on: December 14, 2014, 10:28:11 pm »

For several times I saw a military dorf ran to the location where the target was before picking a new route. Their pets, if any, will ran to the first location as well.

Maybe this was a pathfinding thing? It is OK when the target is not within their sight range(behind a hill, or at different z level). Hey Urist, kill that deer at (x=30,y=150). But when they can see the target, shouldn't they pick a straight route instead? Or at least, they update their path more frequently.

Update pathing in visual range would be best. But if a dwarf could tell exactly where a deer is on the opposite corner of the map is, that'd be too unrealistic to be okay.
