Emotions at all time high.
« on: December 13, 2014, 10:54:55 pm »

So, in this new version, dwarves who are separated from loved ones gain a very potent unhappy thought, and get more and more stressed eventually until they start throwing tantrums and go insane/beserk.

Dwarves who exhibit this trait are essentially doomed to die and possibly cause a tantrum spiral.

Anyone else see this in their forts?

What the fuck. Is some random undorfed recruit now our new Darkwing? Hell, even Darkwing just managed to kill two clowns before he went down. It's beyond me that a frigging recruit in the Official Voidspawn Feeding Detachment managed a triple kill on Forgotten Armokhumping Beasts.

What version are you playing? This was a bug of the older 0.40 version and was fixed in .17 or .18 I believe.

There was a bug in past DF versions where stress did not decrease properly. I am not sure about this in the current version.

I'm playing .14, huh. I didn't see it was fixed in the devlog. Oops.

I really cannot understand why players play outdated DF version unless the new version is much more unstable, which 40.19 is not.

well, up until DT and DFHack were available, the lesser version had that advantage, though DF 40.19 had a lot of important changes so I just switched.

Zolon uristkôn has grow attached to a saguaro rib wooden training spear!
Player has grow attached to DF therapist!
Both are going to be a hassle if you don't deal with them now.

DFhack and therapist have been out for several days now and work fine.

In my case, its because I had started a running fort already in .14, so I'm waiting until its fall (and it WILL fall) before I upgrade.

I did notice that dwarves seem to have a similar problem with chronic health problems, so once they get their lung punctured they will never stop whining about it even after it's been treated...

If I got my lung pierced and ended up up with even more chronical respiratory problems than I already have(I'm a malfunctioning human) I would get pretty chronically pissed too...

But to the point of going insane and dying because of it? You would think at some point they would get over it, but I suppose dwarves might be a little more stubborn than people...

They have a complex about being "less something". Less faster, less stubborn, less ta... Okay, let's leave it at this.
