I have the same issue, its been 3 years and not a single attack, i have had a Werezebra though and 1 single Kobolt, once.
My Civ screen only shows Dwarves, Humans and Kobolts. Thing is, this only shows up if i get a visit, so i have no idea if i will still be attacked by goblins or even visit by elves (who i would gladly slaughter). If this keeps up i will have to piss off humans i guess.

Does anyone know how i can check if gobs have access to me, or are they even alive? Never played with "No Invaders" its just no fun for me, i been enjoying a bit of quiet though, this is the first time in many years my dwarves get to eat, drink and party with no deaths.

you will never get attacked by goblins if you don't have them on your civ screen. Maybe kobolds will start to send ambushers if they steal enough stuff from your fort, but nah.

I'm pretty sure he meant while his fort is running, the civs there only appear once they have visited your fortress.

And be patient would be the best advice I think, I got my first siege in my current fort in year 5.
As long as you have more than 80 dwarves, had goblins in the embark civ screen and were close enough to a goblin stronghold, they should show up sooner or later.

Unfortunately i have not, this has never been an issue before so it never even entered my mind to check it out, is there any other way to see it?

I would recommend a couple more years of patience.  In game I had no goblins on the civ page, but they did finally show up.

I've generally had it where it takes a few years for them to find the fortress, then they come almost annually (though I don't know why, maybe the guys who get away tell the goblin civ where we are, maybe I suddenly got enough wealth to interest them, but usually once they show up they show up again every couple of months with another squad)
