I would like to request permission to put classic DF stories on Wattpad citing the original author
Would this break copyright or anything?

I doubt that collections of forum posts are copyrighted in a technical or legal sense, but you should still get permission from the authors, I think.

The citation could be in the form of a URL linking back to the source - in this way, all authors would be recognised and those who enjoy such tales would know where to find more.
