Is sliver barb findable now?

I knew that at least several versions ago evil areas didn't produce any plants. So despite my desires, I couldn't pull up sliver barb to make black dye. Has this been fixed? Are people making black dye in vanilla now? How are they finding it?

??? I've had tons of silver barb in any evil area I go to? Even the deserts?

Yep, now you can find them, and other plants too, if you are in the right biome. Just gather some plant around (d-p) and you should find some pretty easily.
