I was talking about the game. Unproductive creatures in Dwarf Fortress are roughly 80% unwilling to marry and 20% alternate sexuality (and 0% sterile).

Ah, okay. I didn't realize animals "married" in DF. Odd.

Well, I think marriage applies only to dwarves (and presumably other sentients), as I think animals are promiscous, while I believe DF marriages are between exactly two sexual opposite gender dwarves for the game purpose of reproduction (which apparently is functional right to the end). I haven't checked this, though, neither have I checked whether DF models infidelity, which I assume it doesn't. Non sexual bonding would end up under the friendship tag, I assume.

So now I have to possibly catch MORE than a female and a male croc because lesbian crocodiles ?

I fully understand for sentients such as dwarves but for animals it seems just a teensy bit ridiculous.

Homosexual marraiges are in the game.  The game does not model either infidelity or remarraige, the latter is beyond irritating especially with immortal beings like elves or goblins.
