It seems to have a similar idea, although more modelled around having a crew rather than just controlling the sim.

Did submarines really do anything in the cold war?  I always was under the impression it was just American subs glaring angrily at Russian subs and not much else?  I admit I don't know much about it though.

@Retropunch: Yes, I know it but as you say it has another focus and it is not realistic in terms of submarine operations/combat.

@Levi: It does not model history So the assumption is the cold war got hot....cold war setting means the timeline (80's). So my inspiration is the Sid Meier game "Red Storm Rising".
