Hello

So it took a while but I eventually have a functioning, reasonably well equipped military.  They seem to be able to handle threats - cyclops are toast for example.  But I have to admit I'm not really sure I understand the combat system very well.

Would playing adventure mode help that at all?  Is there any relation?

You can see difference between weapons and armors but, not Adv is not very helpfull in this case.

Hm... If you want to understand combat aspect of big fights, go to arena mode. Adventure mode is better for understanding the whole game and what pain single individual experiences in battle, but it's squad options are severly limited even with modding.

adventure mode is a good way to "prepare" the surroundings of your embark side.
