Set-Up Part 2

Where are you?

Rural Town: A small town out in the countryside. There's already plenty of houses, and chances are you won't run into as many bandits or zombies as you would somewhere else, but there isn't really anything special about this place.

Military Base: An army base, not that far from civilization. Might still contain some military equipment, and it already has pre-built defenses, but it's also a popular place for looters.

Prison: An old, concrete prison in the countryside. Defensible, and relatively isolated, but it doesn't really have any civilian industries or useful supplies.

What did your group bring with you?

Extra Resources: More supplies, like food and building materials.

More Equipment: Rifles, armor, weapons and equipment you found during the end.

Vehicles: Trucks, cars, whatever. They could be quite useful, although they'll need fuel.

Bastion Military Base

You and your band showed up at the base, fairly early in the morning, and began clearing it out. With military precision, you execute all of the infected in the area, and dump them onto a bonfire. Looking over the base, you can see a few barracks, a mess, an armory, and a training area. There's also, intriguingly, a barricaded garage, along with a few vehicles sitting around the base. An army mechanic and two cops peel off to check out the cars, while a few marines go off to check out the armory, and everyone else starts to settle in to their new home. By the end of the day, you have a few reports sitting on your desk.

Inventory Report
Daniel Waters, Marine Sergeant- The armory was looted when we got there, but not thoroughly. Checking all the cabinets, tables, everything, we found some M16s, a SAW, and two SDM-Rs, along with ammo and some grenades. Better than I would've expected, but not a lot.

Ralph Kimberly, Army Specialist, Mechanic- I looked at the Humvees sitting around the base. Two of them are, currently, working, and I could probably get a few others working if we had spare parts. We also found a giant diesel tank on the side of the garage. Unfortunately, it isn't full, but it still has 100 gallons at least.

Assorted- The rest of the base isn't that spectacular. The mess had some extra food, and we found a small garden, but that's all.

Spoiler: Inventory (click to show/hide)

Personnel Report
Everyone seems happy, or at least content.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Security Report
There's no zombies within view. Actually, there's no signs of anything in the area.

((That...took a while to write. Make sure you mouse over the acronyms in the equipment report.))

What are our defenses like?
Also, can we get a really simple map? Handing us a link to a map online of one that its like would be good, if its based of a real place.

Otherwise, I propose we appoint a leader for the Hayfield Department and get the Jarheads training the Gooding Department in useing rifles, while getting the Boots to set up guard positions with the SAW and the two SDM-Rs, with Kimberly getting a pair of Humvees ready for a scoutting run.

I think the SWAT team should get some rest, pending sending them out on a scouting room, probably with the Jarheads.

We should check the barracks for a map and try to find the CO's office if it's still there. A map would be great for scouting and we might be able to locate possible military rally points to check out.

Approx. 20 feet wall, give or take, with a large gate at the front, maybe 2-3 humvees wide.

Without thinking, I made it a lot like this base from Unturned. It's basically like this, but with a mess in the lower right corner.

EDIT: Also, no hole in the back of the base.

If I remember correctly, the gate of that pase was to the east, the truck garage to the north, right? Same orientation here?

Grand. In that case the two guys with DMRs should be kittycorner from each other, and the SAW on the tower between that is on the gate side.

Bastion Military Base

Inventory Report
A few of the cops from Hayfield start to turn over the barracks, and, after an hour, find a map. You're in a surprisingly barren area, with a town about 40 miles east, a large urban area 150 miles or so to the south-west, and a few, scattered rural areas and farms. As for the CO's office, Waters thinks they probably put it in the garage, which is barricaded.

Ralph Kimberly, Army Specialist, Mechanic- The two Humvees that are still working have 50s, and I made sure the tanks were topped off. Should make 300-something miles highway. If there's any 50 ammo in this base, it's probably kept in the garage, but the Humvees have some loaded already.

Spoiler: Inventory (click to show/hide)

Personnel Report
The SWAT team settles down for some rest in the barracks.

You appoint Tyson Sims, a police sergeant from Hayfield, as the leader of the Hayfield department, and the Jarheads begin to train the Gooding Department. In the few hours they spend training, not much gets done, and Tex is the only one who seems to have learned anything.

Spoiler: Personnel (click to show/hide)

Security Report

The Boots get into guard position on the walls and in the towers. They see a few aimless zombies a few miles away, but nothing that would be a security threat.

Right, SWAT and Jarheads grab the two Humvees and head to the small town (taking with them the map) with orders to scout the place out and not waste toomuch ammo.
half the Hayfield department goes and hops up on the walls while the books keep trying to train Gooding, while keeping three guys in towers for the DMRs and the SAW. the remaining Hayfield men go search the garage more.
