i made this thead on creative projects, but i figure it needs another one here to reach the right audience

It's a chess-like thingie. Two players on a 8x8 board, with 12 pieces, 6 for each player. There are 6 visually distinct pieces, one for each player, and each piece move in a way only the owner knows, at least at the begnning of the game. As they play, players start to figue out the oponents pieces, and on your first games, it is a good idea to note down the oponents moves. Games tend to be short, so we always played 3 rounds to decide a winner.

I haven't decided on a name, i've thought up the two on the thread title, but i'd apreciate some input. I'm also planning to start a thread on Forum Games, but i'm having trouble finding the time to host a forum game so i'd like to tempt you into setting up a game among yourselves. An arbiter might be useful but i don't think it is needed and i can't afford to be more than a spectator, so, at least two of you would be interested?

The game is played in a 8x8 board, each player has 6 unique pieces of his color.
In the begining of the game each player lays their pieces on the board in the folowing manner:

Each player then assigns a move-set to each piece, noting it down on a card which is kept hidden from the oposing player.
There are 6 unique move-sets, and all must be assigned to one piece, no two pieces of the same player can move in the same manner.

Players then take turns moving their pieces, one each turn, acording to the move-sets they were assigned in the begining o the game.


It is alowed, and advisable for begining players, to note down their oponent's moves to try and figure out how a given piece moves.
Pieces cannot move into a square ocupied by a piece owned by the same player.
When a piece lands on a square ocupied by the oponent's piece, the opponent's piece is taken and the oponent discloses its move-set. The player who took the piece scores a point
when a piece reaches the oposing end of the board and is not taken by the oponent in the folowing move, at the begining of the piece owner's next turn that piece is removed from the board and the owner scores 2 points, and discloses the move-set of the removed piece.
When a player scores 6 points the game ends, both player disclose their cards, and the scoring player wins the round. The game tends to be somewhat short, so if everyone is still having fun two other games are played to decide the best player.
