Soldiers refuse to fight
« on: October 03, 2014, 10:15:18 am »

I have a strange bug here, whatever orders i give my soldiers the just stand in the middle of attacking goblins and refuse to fight back. I tried station orders, i tried ordering them to kill via list and box - nothing. The combat logs are full of pages of the goblins missing them but not a single try of my dwarfs to fight back. Some have died from over-exertion from dodging too much and the goblins have beem promoted to weaponmasters already.
Any idea what might cause this behavior?

EDIT:
There is definetely something wonky with the squads, their schedules and/or their equip. I cleared the schedules first and redid them and that got one squad from individual drill to training, but that wasn't the cause of their lack of fighting spirit.
Since i just had medium sized siege and i don't expect any more this year i disbanded all the squads and will now create them again, hopefully that will fix everything.

No idea :S. i have disbanded every squad removed the militia captains and made everything again, and the military beat up the latest elf ambush just fine.
So unless it was something with loyalty due to the goblin civ taking over my mother civ or something i assume the next goblin siege will meet the same fate.
Unfortunately i didn't make a backup save.

Edit:
I think i found it, seems to be bug 8250, also has saves.
